They’re Finally Filming Stranger Things: The First Shadow For A Netflix Version

Super excited for this one. The First Shadow was one of the best things to come out of the Stranger Things world. Henry as a troubled teen, the mind flayer hints, Brenner’s shady past—it’s all there. The show finale felt incomplete without it. Now we get to see it properly filmed with better effects probably. They waited because of Season 5 changes, I bet. Makes sense. This is going to tie everything together nicely. Netflix, don’t make us wait another year to watch it please.

Okay but let’s be real—Netflix is doing this because they’re scared Season 5 won’t be enough to keep people talking. The long gap hurt them. Filming the play now is like throwing us a bone. I saw it on Broadway and it was good, but not perfect. Stage limits what you can show. Hopefully the Netflix version fixes that and adds more details. Still, better late than never. I’ll take any new Stranger Things content at this point.

Love this news. Stranger Things fans deserve it. The First Shadow is basically required watching if you want the full Henry Creel picture. The show pretended you didn’t need it, but we all knew something was missing. Joyce and Hopper having history with him in the 50s? That changes everything. Netflix probably waited until Season 5 was locked so they could tweak the play version without ruining surprises. Smart planning. I’ll be streaming this the second it drops.

Why now though? Season 5 filming wrapped ages ago. They could’ve released this in 2024 easy. I think they held it back on purpose to build more hype or maybe legal stuff with the stage rights. Anyway, doesn’t matter anymore. I’m just glad it’s coming. The play filled in all the blanks about Brenner and the lab origins. Watching it on screen will be next level. Can’t wait to see how they handle the radioactive rock scene—it was so weird in the theater.

Meh, too late. Season 5 is almost here and now they drop this? Should’ve done it right after Season 4 ended. The play was great for people who could see it live, but most fans never got the chance. I read summaries online so I know the backstory, but seeing it filmed properly will be better. Still annoyed they made us wait this long. Feels like they just want more money from the hype. Whatever, I’ll watch it anyway because I need my Stranger Things fix.
