We Got ‘Em! Fraser And Weisz Will Return For New Mummy Movie In 2028

Meh, 2028 is way too far. By then everyone might forget why we wanted this. Fraser and Weisz are great picks obviously, but I’m worried they’ll try to make it too serious or add too much CGI junk. The originals worked because they felt real and funny. Hope they don’t mess that up. Still watching the announcement though

Super pumped! Rick O’Connell is one of the coolest adventure heroes ever, and Evie was the brainy half that made it all click. Bringing them back feels right. Radio Silence has a good track record with fun horror, so this should be a solid mix. Just keep the practical effects and practical jokes. Can’t lose.

Oh man this is awesome. I grew up on those movies and the third one always felt wrong without Rachel. Now we get the real pair again. Directors seem like they’ll keep the spirit alive instead of another boring reboot. Long wait till 2028 but worth it if they nail the tone. Fraser comeback continues strong.

I can’t believe they’re really bringing back Fraser and Weisz. I grew up watching the first two movies and seeing them together was always the best part. I’m a little nervous about how they’ll handle the story, especially if they ignore Dragon Emperor completely, but honestly I don’t care. I just want to see those classic characters back in action. The idea of new directors who did Ready or Not makes me think it might have some fun humor mixed with adventure, which sounds perfect. I might even go back and rewatch the first two a few times to get ready. I hope they don’t overdo the CGI too much and actually bring that old-school charm that made those movies so entertaining.

I don’t usually get this excited about sequels, but hearing Brendan Fraser is coming back makes this different. He brings so much energy to Rick, and I can’t imagine anyone else in that role. I’m curious if they’ll make it Mummy 4 or pretend Dragon Emperor never happened. Honestly, I don’t really care either way. I just want smart Evie and daring Rick doing adventurous stuff again. The release date is so far away, but it gives me time to do a rewatch marathon. Also, Radio Silence directing could make it feel fresh and maybe scarier than before without losing humor. I hope they do some practical stunts too.

Brendan Fraser deserves this comeback and seeing him with Rachel Weisz is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. I remember thinking Dragon Emperor was disappointing, so I really hope they skip it and focus on a story that feels connected to the first two. I trust the new directors because they’ve shown they can make horror fun but not dumb. I’m imagining clever traps, scary mummies, and witty dialogue. I can’t wait to see how they update the action for 2028 without losing that old adventure vibe. It’s going to be amazing to finally see Rick and Evie on screen together again.

I’m lowkey emotional about this. Brendan Fraser went through so much crap in real life and now he’s getting his iconic role back? That’s justice. Rachel Weisz returning means they’re not half-assing it either. The third movie was straight garbage, so pretending it never existed is the move. Radio Silence made those Scream films feel fresh again, so they might actually respect the adventure-comedy tone instead of turning it into another generic monster flick. 2028 release sucks for waiting, but if it means quality, I’m patient. Already hyped.

No way they’re actually fixing the Mummy series. Fraser as Rick again is chef’s kiss. Weisz as Evie was irreplaceable—Bello tried but it just felt wrong. Dropping the third from canon? Smartest decision Universal ever made. These directors know how to balance scares and laughs without making it cringe. Hope they bring back some of that old-school practical effects too, not just green screen everywhere. This could be the comeback the franchise needs.

Honestly surprised they didn’t just reboot with new people again. Bringing back the originals shows they finally get what fans actually want. Rick and Evie’s chemistry was the heart of those movies—without it the third one flopped hard. Matt and Tyler directing gives me hope because their stuff always has energy and doesn’t feel corporate. Long wait till 2028 though. Might as well rewatch the first two every weekend to hold me over. This better not get canceled.
