Oni Press’s April 2026 lineup doubles down on what the publisher does best: atmospheric horror, licensed nostalgia, and prestige packaging for collectors willing to pay for it. The month lacks […]

Another month, another stack of overpriced Oni books I’ll probably buy anyway. The EC Library Edition at $60 is nice but that $125 slipcase with Bermejo prints? Pure wallet punishment for FOMO. Estuary seems cool on paper but I bet the “colonialism is the real monster” angle gets preached too hard. Twin Lotuses and Infantoms look heavy, at least they’re trying something different instead of more zombie reboots. Murder Drones and Rick and Morty keep the licensed cash flowing I guess. Solid month if you like paying premium for paper. I’ll still get most of it.

Estuary looks perfect – slow creepy story with old mission and ghosts under water? Yes please. Then the EC stuff keeps coming strong, that big hardcover collection of Epitaphs from the Abyss is gonna be huge on my shelf. I already pre-ordered the slipcase one because only 1000 exist. Dead Teenagers #2 sounds messed up in the best way, stuck in adult bodies but still teen drama plus killing loop. I’m grabbing everything horror this month, Oni never disappoints with atmosphere.

Dead Teenagers is hitting me right in the feelings. Prom night massacre loop from 97, then bam they’re in 2026 with real adult problems like bills and regrets? That’s genius horror because the real terror is growing up and still being broken inside. Reminds me of my own high school trauma but with actual blood. Caitlin Yarsky art always looks sharp too. Mix that with Adventure Time still going strong and Biker Mice collection coming later – feels like Oni is keeping all the old cartoon vibes alive while dropping new scary stuff. I miss the 90s so much this scratches the itch perfectly. Ordering Dead Teenagers day one.

Murder Drones #3 at camp with killers? That’s exactly the kind of dumb fun I need right now. Uzi is best girl and the show already has me hooked so the comic version is easy pickup. Rick and Morty The End body swap courtroom chaos sounds hilarious too – classic Rick being a nightmare. Adventure Time wrapping some plots, always nice. Not the deepest month but these keep me reading every week without stress. Good palette cleanser between the heavier horror books. Oni does these adaptations right, consistent and fun.

I like how Oni focuses on trauma that never ends this month. Dead Teenagers, Spirit of the Shadows, Autumn Kingdom – all about people stuck in pain cycles, trying to escape but maybe can’t. Even Estuary brings old sins back with the mission and shipwreck. Twin Lotuses with the automaton wife replacement is heartbreaking, mixing real war grief with robot questions. Infantoms takes it to extreme with parents allowed to kill bad students – scary because it feels possible in our pressure cooker world. These stories make you think after you close the book. Respect to Oni for not just doing cheap scares.

Too many books this month, wallet cries already. I’ll skip the big EC hardcover for now, maybe wait for sale. Estuary #1 is my must-buy, new horror miniseries with good team always worth $5. Dead Teenagers #2 next because time loop plus adulting sounds fresh. The graphic novels like Twin Lotuses look interesting but $30 each hurts. I’ll grab one or two and trade/wait for the rest. Oni always has strong covers so at least they look nice on shelf even if I read digital first.

EC revival is the best thing in comics right now and Oni keeps feeding us. Cruel Universe and Catacomb of Torment every month? Yes! New stories with Jensen, Pak, Dorkin – legends. But the real win is Epitaphs from the Abyss Library Edition collecting the first 12 issues plus extras. 50 pages behind the scenes, that’s gold for fans. Limited slipcase with Bermejo portfolio is collector bait, I’m in line for it. This is how you treat classic horror brand right. Oni gets it.

Not gonna lie, no huge new launch except Estuary makes this feel like a quieter month for Oni. Still solid though – lots of endings coming up in miniseries so things move forward. I’m curious about Estuary because Maan House art always delivers creepy vibes without being too loud. The EC books are reliable, same with the licensed ones. Ghost Projekt remaster is nice for old fans, haven’t read it in years. Overall good if you’re already reading Oni stuff, not the best entry point for new people maybe. I’ll pick up a few and see.
