Distribution problems clearly pushed this move. That context matters. The collapse of old systems forces change whether fans like it or not. Given that, this reboot feels less like a creative choice and more like a necessity. Survival sometimes looks messy. If Oni Press can keep books shipping regularly, that alone is progress. Readers cannot support what does not exist. Regular presence beats perfect planning.

Disappointment comes from seeing Archie slowly leave public spaces. Comic shops reach a limited crowd. Supermarkets reached everyone. That difference shaped generations of readers. No reboot can replace that kind of visibility. Even if the stories improve, the cultural footprint shrinks. That is hard to ignore. Archie used to be part of daily life. Now it feels optional.
