2026 Soundtrack Music Nominations for the Golden Globes Announced

Golden is going to win. None of those other songs became relevant this year. And Golden invaded the charts for, like, almost the whole year. So it's definitely going to be Golden.

The only song I am really hoping to win is “The Girl in the Bubble.” I think it is one of Ariana Grande’s greatest works. Her voice carries so much emotion, and she really brings Glinda to life in the performance. I was impressed by how she balanced the character’s charm and vulnerability at the same time. The song is catchy but also has depth, and I feel like it deserves recognition more than some of the other nominees. Every time I listen to it, I notice little details in her delivery that make the song feel alive and connected to the story. I really hope the Golden Globes or Critics’ Choice Awards give it the attention it deserves.

I think the soundtrack category is always the most exciting for me because it highlights music that actually shapes how a story feels. I like that there are different styles, from animated features to musicals to classical scores. This year feels especially interesting because there is a mix of global music influences, pop collaborations, and strong traditional scores. I am already making a playlist with all the nominated songs so I can listen before the awards. It is fun to see which ones will get attention from the public and which ones will win.

I noticed that the Oscars have not released their soundtrack list yet. That makes me curious about which films will appear there because they usually have more nominations than the Golden Globes. I feel like KPop Demon Hunters might not compete in the score category, but it could still get recognition for song categories. I enjoy watching the whole awards season to see which music gets highlighted and which songs people really connect with.

KPop Demon Hunters being nominated in so many categories makes me really happy. I’ve been following the K-pop scene for a while, and seeing an animated film based on a K-pop band get this kind of recognition is incredible. “Golden” is honestly one of the most catchy soundtrack songs I’ve heard in years. I’m not surprised it’s up for both Golden Globes and Grammys. It also seems like this could be a turning point for animated music to be taken seriously in awards shows. If it wins, it might encourage more investment in animated features with strong musical components, which I’d love to see.
