The Golden Globes released their nominees for next month’s awards ceremony. The list includes numerous soundtrack music nominations vying for the top spot. But which ones?
Only ten film soundtracks are on the 2026 Golden Globe soundtrack music nominations list this year. Six of them are up for Best Score. The rest are for Best Song. However, the big winner is KPop Demon Hunters, which is also up for the best animated feature and box office achievement awards.

KPOP Demon Hunters Score Big Golden Globe Soundtrack Music Nominations

With awards season around the corner, everyone is dropping their nominations. The Grammys dropped their list last week, and now, it’s the Golden Globes’ turn.
Announced on December 8, 2025, the nominations for the 83rd Golden Globes include some impressive names and several new categories, including the Best Podcast award. However, the music categories have all the buzz at the moment.
This is due to the continued popularity and growth of KPOP Demon Hunters. The Netflix animated feature received three nominations:
- Best Animated Motion Picture
- Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement
- Best Original Soundtrack Song for “Golden.”
The other notable inclusion is Wicked: For Good, which bagged two nominations for Best Soundtrack Song.

Other Notable Soundtrack Music Award Nominations
Besides the Golden Globes, the Grammys and Critics’ Choice Awards also released their nominations lists. They are mostly the usual suspects, but they have a few surprises as well.
However, the Oscars have yet to release their list, despite revealing that over 130 soundtracks are vying for the Oscar in the soundtrack categories.
The 2026 Grammys Soundtrack Music Nominations

The Grammys released their nominations a month ago, on November 7, 2025, for the ceremony airing on February 1, 2026, on CBS. They added new categories as well, including Best Traditional Country Album and Best Album Cover.
However, only the soundtrack categories have something for film music enthusiasts, unless you’re a KPop Demon Hunters fan. That’s because Demon Hunters landed in five categories, including:
- Song of the Year – for “Golden.”
- Best Pop Duo/Group Performance – for “Golden.”
- Best Remixed Recording – for the David Guetta REM/X of “Golden.”
- Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media
- Best Song Written for Visual Media – for “Golden.”
You will find the complete 2026 Grammy nominations list here.
Best Visual Media Compilation Soundtrack
Demon Hunters is only up for two soundtrack categories for this year’s Grammys, and Best Compilation is the more interesting of the two. The award celebrates soundtracks that feature a single principal group of artists. This year, five soundtracks are up for it, spanning several music styles, including:
- A Complete Unknown – for Timothée Chalamet
- F1® The Album – for composers
- KPop Demon Hunters – for HUNTR/X

- “As Alive as You Need Me to Be” by Nine Inch Nails, From TRON: Ares
- “Golden” by HUNTR/X, From KPop Demon Hunters
- “I Lied to You” by Miles Caton, From Sinners

Despite its popularity, KPop Demon Hunters is not on the list for either soundtrack score category. That includes Film Score, leaving the door open for other movies and series to take the stage. The five soundtracks for Best Score include:
- How To Train Your Dragon
- Severance: Season 2
- Sinners
- Wicked
- The Wild Robot
Best Video Game Soundtrack Score
Five video games are competing for the best soundtrack for gaming or interactive media:
