I walked through the mall this Halloween, and not a single Elsa or Harley Quinn in sight, which was wild. I swear, it’s like someone hit the reset button. Instead, there were tons of girls with purple braids and yellow jackets, clearly channeling Rumi. It’s like she’s taken over the whole scene. You can spot them from a mile away now, and there’s something refreshing about it. It’s no longer the same recycled costumes year after year. The shift is pretty clear, and I honestly think Rumi’s the perfect character for this era. The K-Pop influence is just everywhere, and she’s become the new icon for a lot of people. It’s crazy how one character can redefine Halloween so fast.

It was a nightmare trying to find a Rumi costume this year. I swear, my daughter was in tears the whole time because she just had to be Rumi for Halloween. I told her, "Look, Zoey and Mira are still available!" But nope, she wouldn’t budge. She wanted Rumi, and only Rumi. Honestly, I’m so relieved my daughter is a fan of Mira now. After that whole Rumi fiasco, I was really starting to stress. But Mira's costume? It’s still available, and it’s actually pretty awesome. Plus, it’s not sold out everywhere like Rumi’s. She was so happy when I showed it to her, and I can already tell she’s going to rock that look. Now we can both breathe a little easier this Halloween.

It’s about time Elsa was retired from the Halloween costume scene. I’ve seen so many little kids dressed as her for years, it’s become a little too predictable. Rumi, though?
