In the year of 2020, Square Enix released the remake to the legendary Final Fantasy 7, and shook the world. Now, that same game and it’s Intergrade DLC will release onto both Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S! Final Fantasy 7 needs little introduction, with how it reshaped and defined it’s era as one of the premier RPGs. The game had a lot to love and cement itself as one of the greater games of all time with it’s 3D graphics, strategic and customizable battle system, and memorable story and cast. It wasn’t a matter of if it would get a remake, rather it was a matter of when. Eventually, Final Fantasy 7’s remake would release after years anticipation, and shake the gaming world. The new combat system utilizes the old ATB system in a more active manner, and the stunning graphics and perspective breathed life into the world of Gaia. The game was first released on Playstation, and remained an exclusive for quite a while. However, with the older Final Fantasy games released onto more platforms, many expected the Remake to follow suit. Square Enix didn’t disappoint, as FF7 Remake Intergrade will soon drop onto Switch 2 and […]

I think the smart move here is offering both the remake and the original together. Many younger players might only know Cloud from crossover games like Smash Bros or Kingdom Hearts. Having the chance to see both versions makes it easier to understand the legacy. I am also interested in how the story was expanded, because I heard there are surprises that change the path of events. That could be controversial, but it gives people something to discuss.

I am an Xbox gamer, and I was waiting for this news for years. I always felt left out when PlayStation fans talked about how good the remake was. Now I finally get to play it without buying another console. I think January is a good release window because it is not too crowded with other big games. I will preorder mainly because I want the original as well. For me, it is value for money.

Seeing the remake expand to Xbox and Switch 2 makes me happy because more people will finally get to try it without needing a PlayStation. The inclusion of the original game as a pre-order bonus is a smart decision. New players can compare both versions and see how much the series has grown. I already own the PlayStation version, but I am interested to replay it on a handheld system like Switch 2. For me, portability adds new value to the same game.

As someone who has played every Final Fantasy, I see this move as overdue. Square Enix has been slow in sharing their big titles across platforms. Locking it only to PlayStation for so long limited the audience. This release feels like a correction. Also, including the original FF7 is important because it teaches younger fans about RPG history. Many modern players do not understand how influential the 1997 game was. Now they can experience it directly.

Finally, Xbox users get the chance to experience this remake. I waited years, and now it is only a few months away. The ATB system with action combat looks exactly like the kind of system I enjoy. I skipped the PlayStation version because I did not want to buy another console just for one game. Now I can finally play on the system I already own, and that alone makes me satisfied.

The Intergrade DLC with Yuffie was one of my favorite parts. Her fighting style is fast and fun, and the story expansion gave more depth to Midgar. I am glad that people who missed it before will now get to try it. Playing through her chapter gave me a new appreciation for the whole remake project.

I had never played the original FF7, so the remake was my first time experiencing the story. It felt emotional and epic from the beginning. Cloud, Barret, and Aerith felt real because of the voice acting and facial expressions. It made me want to go back and try the old version after finishing the remake.

I loved the fact that the remake expanded the story. Some fans were not sure about the changes, but I think it added more mystery and made me curious about future parts. It gave me a reason to keep discussing theories with friends after finishing it.
