If you enjoyed Split Fiction and don’t feel like waiting years for Hazelight to come up with the next co-op adventure, we have good news: imagine if someone took that game and combined it with Alien Isolation. You’d get Astrumis: Survive Together, the new two-player survival game that just launched on Steam. You and a friend play as the only two survivors of a space station experiment gone wrong: John Kowalski, the explorer, and Yang Sungbin, the Mission Control Operator. Project A.S.T.R.U.M.I.S. was experimenting with mutating aliens until one got a bit…TOO mutated. Now the two of you must cooperate to solve the mysteries of the ship and escape, while staying out of the alien’s way. The player controlling Kowalski must plumb the depths of the ship, reroute its power and hacks into control systems. The player controlling Sungbin must use surveillance footage to monitor the alien’s movements, solve puzzles and guide Kowalski along safe paths. Many of the obstacles are time-sensitive and require the skills of both of you at once! Played exclusively in co-op, this experience offers replayability through two different gameplay experiences. Friend Pass availability means only one copy of the game is required to purchase! Survivor : Play […]

I just played the first mission with my brother, and I have to say, it really made us communicate better. I was Yang, and he was John. At first, I felt useless because all I could do was watch cameras, but later I realized how important it is to guide someone clearly and calmly. The alien AI moves in a smart way, and we had to stop and rethink our plan a few times. It was stressful but in a good way. I like how the puzzles actually require you to trust your partner, not just wait for them. We’re excited to finish the rest of the game this weekend.

I played the demo before and bought the full version right away. The friend pass made it easy because I didn’t have to convince someone to buy it. The voice acting is decent, and the ship design looks nice. What I love the most is how both players feel needed. You can’t just carry your friend or do everything yourself. The feeling of escaping together is strong, especially when the alien almost catches you. The story is okay, not amazing, but it works. This game is more about the experience with someone than just the gameplay.

I loved Split Fiction, so I bought Astrumis on the first day. The camera work and level design are very similar. The co-op is strong, especially with voice chat. I played as Yang Sungbin, and I liked the puzzle aspect more than I thought I would. Sometimes it gets stressful when you’re guiding your partner in real time and they don’t listen, but that’s also the fun part. The tension is real when the alien comes close. It’s not a horror game exactly, but there are moments that feel intense. I recommend it to fans of shared challenges.

This game was confusing for me at first. I am not good with map navigation or giving directions, so when I played as Yang, I made many mistakes. But my friend was patient and we started to get better. It really tests how you talk and trust each other. I think it helps improve teamwork skills. Maybe I will play as John next time to see how the other side feels.

I was really into the idea, but the execution feels a little basic. Some puzzles are too simple, and I wish there was more variety in the missions. The alien is cool, but after a few times, the tension goes down. It’s still fun, and I liked playing with my cousin, but I’m not sure it has long-term value. Maybe updates will fix that. I like the friend pass though, that was a great idea.
