If you’re a fan of all things chaotic and itching for a new adventure, then you’ve probably had your eye on Revenge of the Savage Planet for a while. Developed by Raccoon Logic Studios, and the follow-up to 2021’s Journey to the Savage Planet, it’s due to be released for the general public on May 8, but you can get it early. On May 5, Raccoon Logic Studios announced the Hoarder Edition, which allows players to dive in three days ahead of the general release and get a head start on the chaotic and oftentimes hilarious survival adventure. And best of all, you don’t just get Revenge of the Savage Planet, but a bunch of other goodies to go alongside. The following additional items are available exclusively to those purchasing through Steam: Both Steam and Console players will get the following rewards as well: Why you should play Revenge of the Savage Planet Putting aside the fact that I’m obsessed with Raccoons in a slightly OTT way, and ROSP is made by Raccoon Logic Studios, and they’re giving away a free Raccoon suit if you purchase the Hoarder Edition, which I know are all deeply personal and bizarre reasons for

I just want to say that I downloaded the Hoarder Edition this week and I already love it. I’m not someone who plays a lot of games at once, so when I commit, I go all in. I didn’t even play the first game, but this one made me curious because of the art style and weird humor. It feels like a cartoon come to life. I put the Gold Lamé Suit on and spent like 15 minutes doing nothing but jumping around looking shiny. I haven’t tried multiplayer yet but I probably will. So far, so good.

I bought this because I was promised chaos, raccoons, and flammable mushrooms. Not disappointed. I even got a skin named after a Trash Panda. Is it a little too much? Yes. But that's the whole point. It’s like they handed over the dev tools to someone with too much sugar in their system and said, "Make something weird." And they did. I don’t know if I’ll finish the game. Honestly, I spend most of my time walking around trying to break things and seeing what happens. But the writing is decent, and the alien designs are better than I expected. Not bad for a studio named after trash animals.

I’ve been streaming Revenge of the Savage Planet all week and the chat is LOVING it. Every time I discover a new creature or get jump-scared by an exploding plant, the comments go wild. The humor actually works better when you're playing in front of people. And I got so many messages asking how I got the artbook and soundtrack—Hoarder Edition, folks! For me, the fun part is just exploring and reacting to all the weird stuff. It’s not about being the best, it’s about having a good time with viewers.

I’m probably older than most players here, but I grew up with games that didn’t hold your hand and expected you to experiment. Revenge of the Savage Planet reminds me of that. It doesn’t feel like a typical modern survival game, and I appreciate the creativity. I also noticed some subtle jokes that felt like references to classic sci-fi shows. The design team clearly knows their history. I don’t care much about skins or bonuses, but the digital artbook was a great touch. That kind of content shows respect for the work behind the game.

As someone who develops small games, I really admire what Raccoon Logic pulled off. The world-building in Revenge of the Savage Planet is impressive, and they clearly had a good time making this. You can feel it in the jokes and little details. Including the artbook was a classy move. I’ve been studying the creature design for inspiration. I do think the tone may confuse players who want either full comedy or full sci-fi, but that’s also what makes it unique. It’s not trying to be perfect. It’s trying to be different.
