“The Recon” is a 2021 Korean drama set in the DMZ, the de facto border between North and South Korea, and is categorized as a military, thriller, crime, and murder mystery. ♦ STORYLINE: In “The Recon”, one of the soldiers hears gunfire in the night and then he hears what sounds like a struggle. The scene switches and a a chief officer is asking another officer if he has ever heard of the “Truth Commission on Deaths in the Military”. The chief officer tells the other officer that if he is afraid of something being revealed he can destroy the records. I don't want to spoil it but by the end of this movie, I was SUPER PISSED OFF! All of a sudden, I understood why people deserted the military. A fellow soldier should not be scarier than the enemy.
