Those attending the 16th edition of the London Korean Film Festival (LKFF) will be in good company for the line-up being offered this year. Set to kick off its 15-day run between multiple venues starting November 4, some of the festival’s notable features will include the opening presentation of Ryoo Seung-wan’s hit political thriller, Escape From Mogadishu, with Im Sang-soo’s festival closer, Heaven: To the Land of Happiness bookending the festival.
Fans of Oscar and BAFTA-winning actress Youn Yuh-jung will also be the subject of a Special Focus strand with several titles hitting screens like 1970 flick, Woman Of Fire, Im’s 2003 A Good Lawyer’s Wife starring Moon So-ri, and this year’s international London premiere of Documentary Youn Yuh-Jung to name a few. Other strands include Cinema Now which spotlights select titles that have made the rounds in the past year, Indie Talent which puts independent creators in focus, and Women’s Voices...
