“In Dream” is a 2022 Korean film, categorized as Science Fiction (Sci-Fi), Thriller and Suspense, Crime and Mystery, and is streaming on Viki. SUMMARY: Even though Hong Hwa is a dream-walker, her special ability could help the police catch a serial killer. ♦ My Friend is in Danger! I Saw Her in My Dream. “In Dream” begins with these statements of fact. A university in England studied 24,282 people for lucid dreams in 2016. 55% said they experienced lucid dreaming at least once in a lifetime. 23% of them replied that they had experienced it regularly more than once a month. Some of them said they could control their dreams. But are some can enter the dreams of others? You could call them dream-walkers. Hong Hwa can enter the dreams of others. She’s not sure how she acquired this ability. However, she participated in a clinical trial for a sleep drug. The researcher told her there might be side effects, but she was not sure of what the side effects might be. It seems that dream-walking, i.e. the ability to walk into the dreams of others, is a side effect. Or is it? Hong Hwa’s friend has gone missing. She […]

OMG, Seo Hyo-Rim and Oh Ji-Ho in the same movie? Sign me up! I loved Seo Hyo-Rim in Sungkyunkwan Scandal, and Oh Ji-Ho always brings the intensity. Plus, a dream-walking plot? That's a fresh take on the whole crime-solving genre. I gotta admit, I'm a sucker for Korean thrillers. They always manage to be both suspenseful and emotional. The fact that it's only got a 6.8 rating on MyDramaList makes me a little hesitant, but hey, everyone has different tastes, right? And at least the reviews on Viki seem decent. Plus, the whole lucid dreaming connection reminds me of "Lucid Dream" with Goo Soo, which I absolutely loved. Looks like I have a new movie to add to my watchlist! Thanks for the recommendation, PopGeeks!

Dream-walking? That sounds like some next-level inception stuff! I wonder if Hong Hwa can control her dreams or if it's more random. Imagine being able to jump into other people's dreams – that would be crazy! The whole concept reminds me of those open-world games where you can explore other characters' minds. Though, fighting a serial killer in a dream sounds way more intense than battling a dragon. This movie definitely sounds like it would appeal to gamers who like mind-bending narratives. Also, the fact that the detective is exhausted from the case – that feels real. Cops in games and movies always seem wide awake, but catching a serial killer must be draining. Hopefully, Hong Hwa's dream-walking can help him out. Gotta check this movie out and see if it lives up to the hype!

I love how this movie throws in a sci-fi element to the classic crime thriller formula. The idea of a dream-walker helping the police is fascinating. It adds a whole new layer to the investigation – imagine the clues you could find by exploring someone's dreams! But it also raises some questions. Can you trust what you see in a dream? What happens if the dream-walker gets trapped in someone else's dream? The ethical implications are pretty mind-blowing.

Interesting! The movie seems to be playing with the concept of lucid dreaming, which is a real phenomenon. While not everyone can control their dreams in the way Hong Hwa does, lucid dreaming can be a powerful tool for self-exploration and even problem-solving. The idea of using it for criminal investigation is certainly creative, though I'm curious how scientifically accurate the movie gets. The 55% statistic for lucid dream experiences seems plausible, based on current research. However, the ability to enter other people's dreams – that's pure fiction. At least, there's no scientific evidence to support it yet. Still, the movie could be a fun exploration of the potential applications of lucid dreaming. It might even spark some interest in the topic and encourage people to learn more about their own dreams. Overall, this sounds like

The friendship between Hong Hwa and her friend seems so deep and genuine. I'm really rooting for them to reunite. And the whole "suppressing anger" thing – that's something I can relate to. Sometimes, it's easier to bottle up your emotions than to deal with them. I hope Hong Hwa can find a healthy way to express her anger without resorting to violence. The serial killer's perspective is also interesting.

Okay, I'm still skeptical about the whole dream-walking thing, but the rest of the plot sounds intriguing. The serial killer's motivations and the relationship between Hong Hwa and her friend seem like they could be interesting to explore. I hope the movie doesn't get too bogged down in the sci-fi elements and focuses on the human drama. And please, let's not get too mushy with the romance. I'm here for the suspense, not the sappy stuff! Overall, this could be a fun watch if they can balance the sci-fi and the human elements. Just don't expect me to believe in dream-walking anytime soon.

The idea of a dream-walker catching a serial killer is just so mind-blowing.

"In Dream" was a masterpiece. The dream-walking sequences were visually stunning, and the acting was top-notch. I was completely captivated from beginning to end. The ending was a bit bittersweet, but it was perfect for the story. I'm already rewatching it with my friends!

If you use that ability to help achieve justice, I guess it's OK. But if you're a serial killer and you can come into my dreams? That's a horror beyond horror. For me, my dreams are the one place where I can escape from everybody! To be robbed of that? Even if the person had good intentions, I would rather die!
