New Company Trying To Make Smell-O-Vision Happen

What we’re about to discuss is what I’d call a “Goldblum Product” — something where its creators were so excited that they could, they never stopped to consider whether or not they even should. You’ve no doubt seen cartoon visions of the future where a character’s TV emits the smell of whatever he’s watching (“PU, a skunk just came on screen! Jane, stop this crazy thing!”) A company called Elevated Perceptions claims they’ve invented this very technology and will unleash it upon the world this fall if they are not stopped. They call it MovieScent, and it’s a device that […]

I'm concerned about the environmental impact of this product. It seems like it would require a lot of plastic bottles and chemicals. I think it's important to be mindful of our consumption habits. I'll stick to watching movies without all the extra bells and whistles.

I can't even imagine how awful it would be if the screen showed a rotting corpse from a landfill. That would be absolutely disgusting! I think I'd have to throw up. I'm glad this product doesn't come with a "Landfill" scent. That would be a nightmare. I'm definitely not going to buy this thing. Also just imagine how my house will smell like if I play Mortal Kombat.

Okay, so I've been thinking about this Smell-O-Vision thing, and I have to say, it's a pretty cool concept. Imagine being able to smell the ocean breeze in a beach scene or the fresh-baked cookies in a bakery. But I can't help but wonder what it would be like to watch, you know, certain kinds of content. I mean, if you're watching something a little more... intimate like porn, what would your house smell like? I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be pleasant. I'm thinking sweat, maybe a hint of fish sauce, and definitely a whole lot of bleach. No thanks, I'll stick to the visuals for now.

This sounds like a fun novelty, but I'm not sure how much I'd actually use it. I like to focus on the visuals and the story when I'm watching a movie. I don't need to be distracted by smells. Plus, I'm not sure I'd want to smell some of those scents, like "Zombie" or "Blood." That sounds a bit too intense for me.

I'm not sure about this. I don't want my house smelling like a bunch of random things. I'm already trying to keep it clean and fresh. I think I'll stick to using air fresheners and candles if I want my house to smell nice

So, let me get this straight: we're going to spend a small fortune to have our living rooms smelling like a mix of "turd" and "Ocean" while we watch a movie? I mean, I'm all for sensory experiences, but this seems a bit excessive. It's like those people who insist on watching movies in the dark with their lights turned off. I'm pretty sure my eyes can handle it without the added theatrics.

Dude, imagine watching a cooking video and actually smelling the food being made. That would be awesome! Like, you could be watching a chef make a pizza and actually smell the cheese melting and the sauce bubbling. Or you could be watching someone bake a cake and smell the sweet aroma of the batter. It would be like being right there in the kitchen with them.

I think it would be really helpful for learning new recipes. Sometimes, it's hard to picture what something will taste like just by looking at it. With Smell-O-Vision, you could get a better idea of what the food will smell and taste like. Plus, it would make cooking more fun and engaging.

Of course, there are some downsides. It might be a bit weird to have all sorts of smells in your living room. And if you're trying to follow a recipe, the strong smells might distract you. But overall, I think the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. It could be a cool way to learn new recipes and appreciate food even more. I'm definitely interested in trying it out.

I mean, this whole idea just sounds disgusting. Imagine watching a scene where a sweaty, homeless man who hasn't had a bath in a decade is rummaging through a dumpster. Now, imagine that smell wafting through your living room. It's like having your own personal olfactory nightmare. I don't think I could handle it.

I mean, I get the appeal of immersive experiences, but there are limits. There are some things that are just better left to the imagination. I think I'll stick to watching movies and TV shows without the added stench. Besides, I'm pretty sure my nose can handle the regular smells of my house.

Scent bottles... sounds a bit like vaping to me. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that. Vaping has been shown to have negative health effects, and I'm not sure if these scent bottles would be any different.
