“Usury Academy” (aka “Loan Boy” and previously known as “Well Done!” or “Good Job!”) is a 2023 Korean film, and categorized as Action, High School, Youth, and Crime. ♦ Why Do Teens Live in a Material World? It’s a Trap! In “Usury Academy”, Kang-Jin is bullied by day and bullied by night. His classmate, Nam-Young, is a rich kid who revels in tormenting him every chance he gets when he is at school during the day. Then when he leaves school, Rang, a loan shark bullies him about searching his house to find money that his parents owe him for a private loan. Kang-Jin is truthful when he says he doesn’t know where or even if they hid the money. Rang tells him what to look for. When he was searching his house Kang-Jin did find the money. He probably intended to hand it over to Rang but … two things happened. Number 1: He was passing by a store and saw a girl he liked getting scolded for trying

This movie concept is wild! A high school loan shark ring? It sounds like dark comedy gold, with a sprinkle of social commentary. I'm curious about the characters' motivations. Kang-Jin is clearly desperate, but what about Rang? Does he just need the money, or is there a deeper reason he's grooming a student to be his collector? And Da-Young, the girl Kang-Jin helps – is she just caught up in the material world, or is there more to her story? I'd definitely watch this for the unique plot and the potential character development

Interesting that the reviewer mentions the movie's realism. Loan sharks are a serious problem, and it's good to see a film tackle the issue, even if it's through a fictional lens. South Korea's article about young borrowers being targeted is concerning. Maybe this movie can spark conversations about financial literacy and the dangers of predatory lending. I wouldn't necessarily call it a feel-good film, but if it raises awareness, then it's worth a watch.

Yikes. This movie sounds like a recipe for disaster. Kang-Jin is being bullied by both a loan shark and a classmate. He might think he's getting revenge by turning the tables, but is it sustainable? Loan sharking is a dangerous world, and there's no way out without getting your hands dirty. I worry Kang-Jin will get in way over his head. This movie might be entertaining, but I hope it doesn't downplay the serious consequences of loan sharking.

The cast sounds promising, especially Yoo Seon-Ho. He was great in "Under The Queen's Umbrella." I'm not usually a fan of movies with low ratings, but the reviewer does mention a realistic plot and interesting cultural dynamics. Those are things I look for in a good film. Maybe I'll check out the trailer and see if it appeals to me

Loan sharking is illegal and predatory, but the film raises the question of how kids end up in debt in the first place. The pressure to keep up with a materialistic lifestyle can be immense. The movie might be fictional, but it highlights a very real problem. I'd be curious to see how they portray the debt cycle and the consequences for both the borrower and the lender.

He's probably charging kids juice with interest rates higher than their parents' credit card debt! I bet the movie's climax involves a high-speed chase on mopeds, not exactly "The Godfather" material. Still, gotta give it props for originality. Maybe it'll be so ridiculous it's funny! Just picture the montage: Kang-Jin cracks knuckles, puts on his nerdy glasses, and goes all "Wolf of Wall Street" on a cafeteria full of desperate kids needing cash for the new limited edition Tsum Tsum plushie. Hilarious!

The movie "Usury Academy" (2023) tells the story of Kang-jin, a middle school student who is bullied both at school by his wealthy classmate Nam-Young and at home by a loan shark named Rang. The movie explores the pressures teenagers face in a materialistic world. Kang-jin's life becomes even more difficult when he finds the money his parents owe Rang. Despite the difficult situation, he meets a needy girl who changes his views. The movie touches on the themes of bullying, financial stress and moral dilemmas faced by young people. Nowadays, you don't have to worry about financial problems because there are websites like https://www.california3k.com/ that provide information on how to get a loan even with a bad credit rating.

He decided to groom the kid because as an adult he can't approach them. They are minors and that could get him in big trouble. But if a minor approaches another minor ... it's rock-n-roll time! The boss just tapped into another group of customers.
