Uglies, a film adaptation of Scott Westerfeld‘s bestselling 2005 novel, is poised to resonate with audiences through its timely exploration of beauty standards. Starring Joey King, fresh off her successful Kissing Booth trilogy, the film has the potential to be a game-changer for the struggling YA genre. After the box office dominance of The Hunger Games, the subsequent years have seen a decline in the popularity of young adult adaptations. Could Uglies be the revival the genre desperately needs? The film is a fitting reflection of our increasingly superficial society, obsessed with youth and appearance. From the rise of plastic […]

It’s fascinating how Joey King manages to effortlessly slip into these teenage roles. I mean, the girl is married! That’s a whole different world from the high school dramas she usually portrays. It's like she's discovered the fountain of youth or something. Her youthful glow is undeniable.

I wonder what her skincare routine is like. Or maybe it’s just genetics. Either way, she's defying the aging process. It's impressive how she can transition from playing a young, innocent character to a more mature role. She’s definitely an actress to watch.

A lot of actresses her age are going under the knife to achieve that sharp, angular look. You know, with the whole buccal fat removal thing. But Joey? She's got that natural youthful glow that's so rare in Hollywood these days.

Okay, so a movie about a world where everyone's forced to be pretty? That's so wild! Like, imagine waking up and suddenly looking like a model. But, but you will become mindless robots? That's messed up. Joey King is a great choice, she can pull off both the bubbly and rebellious vibes. I'm totally gonna binge-watch this when it drops on Netflix. Can't wait to see if Tally picks hotness or freedom.

Look, I'm all for a little nip and tuck if it'll boost my confidence. Who wouldn't want to look their best, right? But turning me into a mindless drone? No thanks. I'm good with my brain, thank you very much. I mean, imagine waking up one day and realizing you can't think for yourself? That's a horror movie waiting to happen. So yeah, vanity? Sure. Losing my mind? Hard pass.

I can't believe they're actually making an Uglies movie! I mean, who saw that coming? It feels like just yesterday I was devouring those books, trying to figure out what the heck was going on in that crazy future world. I’m surprised they didn’t go the series route, honestly. With Netflix's track record of canceling shows, I’m glad they opted for a movie instead. It’s a risky move to make a series, but hey, I’m here for it. Let’s just hope they don’t butcher the story.

Okay, so like, this Uglies movie is finally happening? That's kinda wild. I mean, I read the books when I was like, twelve, and I thought they were super cool. But like, a movie? That's crazy. I wonder if they'll keep it true to the books, you know? Like, will Tally be as awesome as she is in the books? And what about Shay? I hope they don't mess up her character. I'm low-key excited to see how they'll do the whole Pretty Town thing. It'll be interesting to see if the movie can capture that whole dystopian vibe.

OMG, I can't believe they're actually making an Uglies movie! I’ve been waiting for this forever! Joey King as Tally? Perfect casting! I'm so hyped to see how they bring the world of Uglies to life on screen. I hope they don't change too much from the books, but I'm also open to new twists.

I read the Uglies trilogy like, three times. So, I'm cautiously optimistic about the movie adaptation. They really need to capture the essence of the books. The world-building is crucial. I hope they don't rush through the plot. I'm curious to see how they handle the transition from Ugly to Pretty.

Okay, so, finally they're making an Uglies movie. I’ve been waiting for this since like, forever. The books were my life. I mean, Tally, Shay, David – they were my people. I’m both excited and terrified. Excited because I’ve been dreaming about this for years, but terrified because they could totally mess it up. The casting seems okay, but I’m really hoping they capture the essence of the characters. I need to see if they’re gonna do the whole Smoke thing justice. And don’t even get me started on the Pretties. I hope they don’t make them too superficial.
