If they had come out with a Karate Kid arcade game at the time of the movies, what would it look like? Probably a lot like The Karate Kid: Street Rumble, a 16-bit-styled scrolling brawler coming from GameMill Entertainment later this year. Much like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge (which GameMill had nothing to do with) your goal is to advance through stages one fight at a time, sometimes with several adversaries at once. And for once, more than just the usual two characters are represented! You can throw down as Daniel LaRusso, Mr. Miyagi, Ali Mils (With An I) and Kumiko…at the same time! These four were never in a room together until now. They also fight adversaries from across the series including Johnny Lawrence, John Kreese and Terry Silver. One might observe from the boxart that the characters don’t quite look like the actors from the movies. That’s because accurate likenesses cost extra dough, which GameMill didn’t feel like spending.
