If you’re saying “Summer Games Done Quick is here already?” you might be interested to know it’s actually been MORE than a year. The last SGDQ was held earlier than usual, on May 28. It was never revealed why, but the last Sunday in June is the typical start date and we’ve reverted back to that now. Because GDQ does good things. Games Done Quick’s bi-annual marathons gather together the top speedrunners from around the country and set them to work demolishing all your favorite games in the name of charity. Viewers can donate cash to enter for prizes, vote in polls and sponsor bonus runs. To date, GDQ has raised over $45 million for various charities. As always, the summer version of this event benefits Doctors Without Borders.
