Sony streamed a new State Of Play this afternoon at 3 Pacific. There was nothing earth-shattering about it, but traditionally the big announcements are saved for June, right? At least in this case, I hope so. This one was kind of a dud. A large portion of the State of Play was taken up by promotion for Concord, a team shooter due to launch in August (with a beta in July). I don’t know what they expected with this but “hit” is unlikely, given its stark resemblance to pre-existing IPs that have been worn out already. Gameplay is very much like Overwatch and characters / cutscenes are as close to Guardians of the Galaxy as you can get without summoning Disney lawyers. I feel sorry for whoever got stuck working on this uninspired thing. It’ll launch and then disappear. There were several “could have been an E-mail” trailers for re-releases.
