This afternoon, Universal Pictures announced a partnership with Square Enix to create a feature film based on the Just Cause video game series. THR broke the news. You’re probably going to be seeing a lot more movies and TV shows based around video games in the coming years, as things with that subject matter have gained major attention and earned major lucre (The Super Mario Bros Movie, Amazon’s Fallout, HBO’s The Last Of Us). This is yet another case of “man looketh on the outside,” as these things succeeded because they were GOOD, not simply because they started as games. However, Hollywood didn’t come up with the notion of making a Just Cause movie this week. It’s been in development since 2009, with potential directors and stars coming and going. We think it’s a little more likely it will get off the ground this time, but you never know. Ángel Manuel Soto, who previously directed Blue Beetle for Warner Bros, is the latest hire. Kelly McCormick and David Leitch are

Those games are pure, chaotic fun – Rico Rodriguez just grappling around and causing mayhem is endlessly entertaining. It's like a popcorn flick come to life. As long as they capture that over-the-top, action movie spirit, this could be a blast. My only concern is translation – how do you take a game like that and turn it into a cohesive story for the big screen? But with the right director, it could be amazing. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Another video game movie adaptation? Yawn. Hollywood seems to be fresh out of ideas these days. Just Cause? Really? It's all fun and explosions for a while, but those games lack any real depth. What kind of story are they even going to tell? This feels like a desperate attempt to cash in on a popular franchise, and it probably won't end well. I'll stick to replaying Just Cause 3 for my Rico Rodriguez fix, thanks.

Just Cause? Never heard of it. Is it any good? These video game movies are a gamble, you know? Some of them turn out alright, but most are just…meh. I guess it depends on the director and the script. If they can capture the essence of the game and make a fun, action-packed movie, then maybe it'll be worth watching. But if it's just a bunch of nonsensical explosions with a thin plot…well, I've got better things to do with my money.

I’ve been a fan of the Just Cause series since the beginning, so hearing about a movie adaptation is super exciting! The games are known for their wild, over-the-top action and incredible stunts, which could translate amazingly well to the big screen. Seeing Rico Rodriguez in live action, swinging from his grappling hook and causing massive explosions, would be a blast. The fact that Ángel Manuel Soto, who did a great job with Blue Beetle, is directing gives me hope that this project will finally get off the ground.

It's exciting to see another video game translated into a film, and "Just Cause" has a lot of potential given its action-packed premise. However, considering Hollywood's track record of gaming adaptations, I am skeptical. The success of recent adaptations such as "The Last of Us" and "The Super Mario Bros Movie" demonstrates that it can be done correctly, but it takes more than dazzling stunts and explosions. It requires a good storyline and character development to stand out. With Ángel Manuel Soto at the helm and the production team's skill, there's a possibility this might be a hit, but I'll wait judgment until I see more.

"Just Cause" as a film sounds like a match made in heaven for action aficionados! The games are all about nonstop action, with Rico Rodriguez performing spectacular acrobatics and defeating bad guys in style. If they can capture even half of that excitement on screen, it will be an incredible ride. I'm already picturing the wild scenarios they could pull off with a large Hollywood budget. The director, Ángel Manuel Soto, is a fantastic pick. Casting someone who can bring Rico's magnetism to life will be a joy. I can't wait to see who they choose for the job!

Another game-turned-movie? Let’s be real—Just Cause has the chaos and explosions to make it fun on screen, but Hollywood doesn’t exactly have the best track record with video game adaptations. If they mess this up like they did with Max Payne, I’m out. But hey, if the movie flops, at least we’ve still got the games—and maybe a quick escape with planbet-bd.net/app if you’re into some mobile thrill while you wait. Who do you think should play Rico?
