Scarlet Moon’s Prescription For Sleep series has covered a wide variety of video game soundtracks in smooth jazz, from Undertale to Celeste to Shovel Knight to Stardew Valley and even one anime (Attack On Titan, believe it or not). Their latest is a deeper cut, but for those in the know, it’s one of the best soundtracks ever. ActRaiser was originally released on the Super NES in 1991. Half platformer, half god game, it was unusual for the time period, but what made it memorable was the orchestral soundtrack unlike anything ever heard on a console before. ActRaiser?! Man, that takes me back! One of the most unique games on the SNES. The soundtrack was incredible, so atmospheric and orchestral. Never thought I'd hear it in smooth jazz form, but that sounds interesting. Especially with Norihiko Hibino on sax - that guy's a legend! Might have to check this out.

Intriguing concept! Taking a classic orchestral video game soundtrack and turning it into smooth jazz? Could be a match made in heaven, or a total disaster. Gentle Love, huh? Never heard of them, but the combination of Hibino and AYAKI is promising. Might be a nice addition to my relaxation playlist.

Haven't played ActRaiser, but I love a good video game soundtrack reimagining. Especially one that goes in a completely different direction like smooth jazz. The combo of saxophone and smooth sounds with a classic soundtrack could be really cool. Definitely gonna check out some samples online. If it's good, this might be the perfect album to unwind to after a long day of gaming.
