“Lovely Runner” is a Korean drama TV series released in 2024 with 16 episodes, based on a novel, and categorized as Romance, Comedy, Rom-Com, High School, Youth, Time-Travel, and Fantasy or Supernatural. ♦ If I Could Turn Back Time, I Would Run to You! In “Lovely Runner”, Im Sol is a young girl who was involved in a tragic accident and must now use a wheelchair. Ryu Sun-Jae is a top star in a K-pop group and she adores him, as a fan. But one miserable day while she was lying in her hospital wishing she could just die, she received a phone call. Ryu Sun-Jae and the rest of the K-pop members are being interviewed on a radio show. They were calling people who wanted to ask them questions and Im Sol’s phone rang. She answers the phone and releases all of her pinned-up anger on the caller. The interviewer for the radio show starts to apologize. Im Sol’s angry words were on air for everyone who was listening

Okay, I admit it. I gave "Lovely Runner" a shot. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't mind-blowing either. The whole high school crush on a K-pop idol felt a bit cliche, and the time travel stuff got confusing at times. They could have explored the emotional weight of Im Sol's disability a lot more. Still, Kim Hye-Yoon did a great job, and there were a few genuinely sweet moments. But overall, it felt like a missed opportunity.

Guys, I sobbed. Just...ugly cried through the entire last episode. "Lovely Runner" wasn't just some fluffy romance. It dealt with grief, guilt, and the power of second chances in a really poignant way. Seeing Im Sol fight to save Ryu Sun-Jae was both heartbreaking and hopeful. The ending might feel bittersweet, but it left me feeling strangely optimistic.

Alright, "Lovely Runner" surprised me. The plot wasn't groundbreaking, but it was well-executed. The characters, especially Im Sol, were well-developed and relatable. The time travel aspect wasn't used as a cheap plot device, but rather as a tool to explore themes of self-discovery and redemption. Maybe the high rating was a bit generous, but I wouldn't call it inflated either.OMG, the chemistry between Im Sol and Ryu Sun-Jae was off the charts! Even though their relationship was technically forbidden, it felt so innocent and pure. Their journey from strangers to soulmates, defying time and circumstance, was pure rom-com gold.

The time travel mechanics in "Lovely Runner" were definitely interesting, if a bit convoluted at times. The whole "butterfly effect" concept was explored in a way that felt thought-provoking. I enjoyed trying to piece together the timeline and predict the consequences of Im Sol's actions. If you're looking for a show with a complex time travel plot that will make you think, this is definitely worth checking out.

"Lovely Runner" handled the topic of suicide with sensitivity and respect. It showed the importance of reaching out for help and the devastating impact suicide can have on those left behind. Im Sol's journey resonated with me because it highlighted the power of human connection and the strength we can find in each other. This drama could be a valuable resource for anyone struggling with suicidal thoughts or supporting someone who is.

High school, romance, time travel, K-pop? This drama seems to have all the elements of a binge-worthy show! It sounds like the perfect escape after a long day. While I might not expect award-winning performances or groundbreaking plot twists, I'm sure it will be a light and entertaining watch with a touch of fantasy.

"Lovely Runner" was exactly what I needed: a light and heartwarming escape. It wasn't perfect, but it was charming and engaging. The romance was sweet, the time travel shenanigans were entertaining, and the overall message of hope and second chances was uplifting. If you're looking for a feel-good drama to unwind with, this is a perfect pick!
