Transformers One Is A Different Kind Of Adventure

At this point the Transformers are just as well-known around the multiplex as they are around the toy aisle. There have been endless Autobot and Decepticon films of varying quality since the original came out in 1986. There has been nothing, though, quite like the animated picture Transformers One, which Paramount and Hasbro unveiled today with its first trailer. How do you feel about this: a wacky buddy comedy starring Optimus Prime and Megatron, in the days before they were enemies? That’s where this goes, and though there are adventure and action elements hinted at in the trailer, this is a comedy through and through. Every scene is punctuated by a “whoa, did THAT happen?” remark, which isn’t exactly sophisticated humor, but better than what Bay came up with. Seems Optimus wasn’t always as powerful as we know him to be….he started out as Orion Pax, an average civilian of Cybertron who could not transform. Megatron was known as D-16, and was considerably less sinister. They lived in an underground

It feels like a cop buddy movie and its weird seeing a young and innocent Megatron. Glad its not live action, I am so tired of Live action Transfomer movies.

Cool! I've been waiting for this! Finally, we get to dive into the nitty-gritty of Optimus Prime and Megatron's origin story. Seeing them as Orion Pax and D-16 is gonna be wild! I mean, Chris Hemsworth and Bryan Tyree Henry? That's a powerhouse duo right there. And Scarlett Johansson as Elita-1? Can't wait to see her kick some Decepticon tail. It's cool that they're giving us a fresh take on the Transformers universe, especially after all these years.I'm loving the vibe of the trailer too, all that camaraderie between Orion Pax and D-16, it's gonna make their eventual fallout hit even harder.

You know, Transformers One kinda reminds me of X-Men: First Class, you know, how it delved into the origins of Professor X and Magneto's relationship? Seeing the early days of Optimus Prime and Megatron, and how their friendship turns into a bitter rivalry, feels like that same sort of exploration. And hey, I get why some folks might have their reservations, but personally, I'm stoked for a Transformers movie without all those pesky human characters. Don't get me wrong, humans have their place, but sometimes it's nice to just focus on the bots, you know?

You know what really grinds my gears? Human characters in Transformers movies. Seriously, they always feel like they're just shoehorned in for the sake of it. I mean, who cares about humans when you've got giant transforming robots battling it out? Not me, that's for sure. So when I heard that Transformers One is giving us a movie focused solely on the bots, I couldn't be happier. Finally, we can dive deep into Cybertron without any pesky humans getting in the way. Bring on the Autobots and Decepticons, and let's leave the humans out of it for once!

Yes! That sounds and looks amazing. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like the intensely serious Transformers films, but we also deserve a lighter version, you know? It's refreshing to see them dial back a bit and explore the origins in a different light. Plus, can we talk about the Cybertronian Wars? I'm with you there, buddy. Hope they make a Cybertronian War movie after this. Origins are cool and all, but where's the gritty action that caused everything?

And yes, totally agree with you on this one. Finally, a movie where the Transformers get to shine as the true heroes, without those puny humans stealing the spotlight. About time, right? Can't wait to see these bots in action!

You know, I've been seeing some complaints floating around about Transformers One not taking itself seriously enough. But let's take a step back and remember something: the iconic '80s cartoon that started it all was actually pretty darn silly when you really think about it. I mean, come on, giant robots duking it out in outer space? It's inherently over-the-top and, dare I say, a tad campy. Yet, despite all its goofiness, that series managed to carve out a special place in our hearts.

And let's not forget that gut-wrenching moment when Optimus Prime met his demise onscreen for the first time. It was a shocker, no doubt, but even that couldn't erase the memories of all the wacky adventures we'd witnessed up to that point.

So, yeah, maybe Transformers One is leaning into that silliness a bit more than some would like. But trust me, you're gonna miss it when D-16 transforms into the formidable Megatron. There's a certain charm to embracing the campiness of it all, and I have a feeling this flick is gonna capture that magic in spades. So let's buckle up and enjoy the ride while we can, because once the Decepticons start causing trouble, we might find ourselves longing for the days of lighthearted banter and playful antics.

I gotta be honest here, I'm a little disappointed with Transformers One. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for exploring the origins of Optimus Prime and Megatron, but come on, did they have to make it funny and kid-friendly? This feels like a missed opportunity. They could've gone all out and given us a gritty, PG-13 War for Cybertron movie that dives deep into the darker, more mature side of the Transformers universe. I mean, think about it, that would've been epic! Imagine the intense battles, the complex characters, the high-stakes drama. And let's not forget about the money—it's practically a gold mine waiting to be tapped into.

I just don't understand why they haven't realized the potential here. Fans have been clamoring for something like this for ages, and instead, we get another animated flick aimed at a younger audience. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with that, but it feels like they're playing it safe when they could've taken a risk and delivered something truly groundbreaking. Plus, a gritty War for Cybertron movie would've attracted a whole new demographic of fans—older ones who grew up with the franchise and are craving something more mature.

I guess all we can do now is hope that they'll eventually come to their senses and give us the movie we deserve. But until then, I can't help but feel a little let down by Transformers One.

I prefer animation over live action because human characters ruins the story a lot.
