If you have to choose between power, friendship, and love, which would you choose? Never understood why this Viki Original series was named “The King Loves” because after I finished watching all 20 episodes, I was in love with the king’s best friend. Wang Rin (played by Hong Jong Hyun), was the king’s best friend since childhood. Even though he was of royal blood and could be chosen as king, he never coveted the throne. He clearly chose friendship over power. Then he met So Ha also known as Lady San (played by Yoona). He and his friend, the king, Wang Won (played by Im Siwan), both loved her. Did Wang Won, the king, choose power, friendship, or love? Did Wang Rin, the man who could be king, choose power, friendship, or love?

Hi I just watched the review for this, and I think it's so cool. The story of a Korean emperor in search of his true love.
Which is your favorite scene?
The final episode, the ending was a little bit hard for me.

K Dramas have got so popular across the world for their entertainment. And their popularity keeps increasing each day especially amongst the youths and young adults. I have two teenagers and they absolutely love K dramas and all Korean series. All these five plots sound interesting and must be good entertainer..it would be refreshing to see some storyline coming from royal blood line. A getaway for common people to see some drama in royal lives.

That sounds like a fantastic idea! I think it would be really interesting to explore Korean dramas that focus on the royal family and their interactions with commoners. I'm sure that would make for some great entertainment, and it could potentially provide viewers with an insight into Korean culture and customs. It's definitely something worth exploring!

That is because of unique and engaging storytelling, well-developed characters, and high production values. One of the reasons for their popularity is the rise of streaming services like Netflix, which have made it easier for audiences around the world to access K-dramas and other international content.

As a big fan of Viki Originals, I've seen the majority of the shows mentioned in the post. The bond between Wang Rin and Wang Won in "The King Loves" captivated me. Their feelings for So Ha spiced up the plot, and I couldn't help but root for Wang Rin. "Grand Prince" was an emotional rollercoaster, and I found myself sympathizing with Lee Hwi, who wanted nothing more than to serve his country and live a quiet life with his love. With its plot twists and political intrigue, "Queen: Love and War" was gripping, and Jin Se-yeon played the twins to perfection. In terms of "Lovers of the Red Sky,"
I enjoyed the show's historical and fantasy elements, especially the on-screen chemistry between Kim Joo Jung and Ahn Hyo-seop.

I have to agree with the author of this article about "The King Loves," who believes that the title is a little deceptive because the true love story here is between the two male leads, not the king and the female lead. The portrayal of Wang Rin by Hong Jong Hyun was enthralling, and I found myself pulling for him throughout the series. The message of friendship triumphing over power was also well-executed, making this one of my favorite series.I enjoy historical dramas, and "Queen: Love and War" did not let me down. The plot was full of twists and turns, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Jin Se-dual yeon's performance as twin sisters was excellent, as was her chemistry with Kim Min-kyu. This Viki Original series is well worth seeing.

The chemistry between the two male leads was palpable, and Hong Jong Hyun's portrayal of Wang Rin was truly captivating. The theme of friendship prevailing over power was also well-executed and made the series stand out.
