Story:

Twenty years ago, two astronauts were sent on an expedition to explore the surface of the moon. This exploration was thought to be no different than in previous years, however the outcome would change the structure of the universe forever. Undoing the seal of lunar "dumpster" after discovering it, the astronauts were met with the evil sorceress Rita Repulsa. Immediately afterward, a wise sage named Zordon and his assistant, a robot named Alpha, recruited teenagers with attitude that would ultimately defeat Rita and every other evil force that came along after her. It became no secret that there was life on other planets, galaxies, etc. But the human race didn't realize the slow development of life on their sole moon. Upon the opening of the dumpster that released Rita Repulsa and her minions from their ten thousand year ensalvement, microorganisms that were capable of surviving without oxygen were released. Wandering aimlessly into space, the microorganisms eventually made their way to the Earth's atmosphere where they came in contact with an insect-infested area of North America. From there, it began...

Sure some of microorganisms came in contact with other classes of animals, but the insect class was simpler for them to mutate from at an efficient rate. Coming in contact with the insects, the microorganisms went through some sort of fusion process with their hosts. Several years afterward, these insects experienced things that normal insects should not go through: they grew much larger, lived longer, and were certainly more powerful than your typical "bug spray" insects. Not only that, but their intelligence and awareness heightened substantially over the course of several years. After years of development, this swarm of insects found safe haven underground. They were well aware of the human species and their strength, but they wanted to overthrow the human race and could only do so when their power was strong enough.

About two years ago, a group of miners in the city of Angel Grove were in the process of starting a government funded project that would produce the world's first underground city. A few days into the operation, the group of miners began pickaxing at the ground, creating large cracks on the surface. Directly following the few swings at the earth, the ground burst open with something snatching a miner inside of the ground. Fearing for their lives, the remaining miners vanished and notified the authorities of the occurrence. Seeing this as a national scare, the Commander in Chief of the US Armed Forces called together the five service branches of the US's military. However, this meeting would be intercepted by the likes of one prestigious and successful scientist, former Blue Ranger, Dr. William "Billy" Cranston. Analyzing the biological evidence that surrounded the opening in the earth from which the miner was snatched, Dr. Cranston came to the ultimate conclusion that the world was dealing with more than just a typical urban legend.

With permission of the Commander in Chief, Dr. Cranston began working with the US Armed Forces in an attempt to recreate the Power Rangers. With the military's sources and Dr. Cranston's experience with the Morphing Grid, things were appearing to look up for the state of the Earth. Curious for a source of power, Dr. Cranston tapped into the morphing grid and extracted the six original Power Rangers' powers, editing them and adding splices of power to them using other energies that were floating across the grid. This constant tampering with the morphing grid eventually released mysterious Spirits from inside and, because Dr. Cranston was unable to contain them, the Spirits were sent out into the world. Figuring that these Spirits more than likely could do no harm seeing as how they came from the Morphing Grid, Dr. Cranston pushed that thought aside as he later displayed the six suits that would correspond to each of the branches of the military. With the Coast Guard backing out of the picture in favor of the other branches, Dr. Cranston created the Angel Rangers, with corresponding colors going to the separate branches.

The Bio-Scan Morphers were used to access the Morphing Grid and transform a person into an Angel Ranger, but after several tests with soldiers, none of them were capable of harnessing the immense power. It wasn't until one night that Dr. Cranston realized that the Spirits he accidentally unleashed had somehow fused with Bio-Scan Morphers and became one with each of the Ranger suits. Notifying that the military's men and women were of no use in utilizing the suits, Dr. Cranston told the US Armed Forces that these suits were only to be driven by the power of youth, meaning that they would have to, like his mentor before him, locate a few "teenagers with attitude" in order to pilot the Angel Ranger suits and stop whatever evil lied beneath the Earth, for the sake of the planet itself.​

Dr. William Cranston - Former power ranger turned full-time scientist, Dr. Cranston is now the head of a new ranger project titled 'Guardian Angels'. With access to the morphing grid at his fingertips, he wishes to put an ultimate end to the evils that rot this world.

Datas - Dr. Cranston's personal assistant, Datas was created with the thought that he would provide a substantial amount of help to the angel operation. With the intelligence that surpasses the galaxy's smartest being and the playfulness of a young child, Datas is certainly an entertaining but informative robot.

Angel Spirits - Each Ranger has their own special Angel Spirit that comes with their own unique personality. When the Rangers are not in suit, these spirits come in the form of small, glowing entities that appear out of the Rangers Bio-Scan Morphers. While in suit, the spirits communicate with the Rangers through telepathy.​

The Taigun:

A demonic cult organization consisting of alien mutated insects, the Taigun's ultimate goal is to utilize the Earth as their home base of operation, thus attempting to destroy their primary antagonist: the human race. For many years, the Taigun remained underground, preparing themselves for their takeover and almost two decades later, through speedy evolution, they are ready to stake their claim for the Earth.

Doreiku - A moth-based being who has an extreme dislike for the "simplistic" human race. His power seems to be based on meteorite explosives, and his anger is just as explosive. Doreiku's plans consist of utilizing his demonic power to infiltrate the bodies of insects (the most quantitative species on this planet) to completely outnumber and out-muscle the strongest species on this planet, mankind.

Dereputa - A preying mantis-based being whose powers come from molten lava. He is a follower of Drake, but really wants to rule in his own right. Dereputa is a highly physical individual who uses his strength in battle in comparison to using his mind.

Buredoran - A tree hopper-based being whose powers are comet based. Often quiet and very loyal, Buredoran is responsible for the tactical aspects of the swarm. Although he does not like to fight, he will join a battle when he has to and he is a proven fighter because of his mental prowess in comparison to Dereputa.

Antions - Neon green insect footsoliders, they wield one twisted blade each. Based on worker ants, these bug soldiers come in numerous armies.​

The physical definition of a coming of age youth, Sidney's appearance compares to that of a rebellious young man looking to find himself in a crazy world. A pale young man, Sidney has a handsomely symmetrical face with appealing qualities. He keeps his brown hair relatively short and his notable eyebrows are lengthy and thick. An urban fellow, Sidney prefers to wear clothes that are typically seen on MTV compared to clothes that are seen on people who are on CNN. Sidney is that last man you would ever see dressed in a shirt and tie.

Personality: Actions speak louder than words for Sidney Quinn. He's a rebel, a bad ***, a bad role model. He knows that. However, he's the type of person to walk the walk, rather than talk the talk. One thing that annoys Sidney about certain people is that they constantly brag and boast on how good (or bad) they are at a particular things. Sidney lives life by implications and, at times, generalizations, so he feels that there are no need for explanations after he's judged you by being around you for a substantial amount of time.

Generally, Sidney is the type of guy to keep to himself. He doesn't really work well with others and it shows in his actions. He doesn't have any close friends he can relate to, his father left him and his mother some time ago, and his mother only has negative things to say about him. "You'll end up jail" or "Where did I go wrong with you?" are the numerous statements Sidney tends to hear on a day to day basis. For that reason, Sidney has learned to depend on himself and sees the world as 'dog eat dog'.

Some good qualities about Sidney is that he never backs down from any challenge. If given a task and told that it is impossible to accomplish, Sidney will do everything he can to prove somebody wrong and come to a solution for the problem. He also has a knack for giving good advice, obliviously. Sidney doesn't really care for anyone else, but that doesn't mean he can't learn to if he's around sincere individuals.​

The best suited description toward Aya’s appearance is uniqueness from clothes down to her bleached soft pink hair worn in a side ponytail. Aya prefers not to follow (or considers herself to be a) trendsetters as the young woman feels being uncomfortable within her own skin wearing that which is in the current trend. This does not by all mean condones others following the fashion world simply wants to follow her own path.

Personality:
A creative and resourceful young woman never shies away from things no matter how difficult (or frustrating) they appear to be. Keeping a sharp mind Aya pushes her limits taking frustration of a problem to look at in a different light to solve it. Aya treats everyone the way she’d like to be treated with respect if she knows them or not. This can be applied if anyone she finds in trouble or put into a corner will not hesitate to have their back. If there is one thing that Aya cannot tolerate are those who feel like they have something to prove bullying others.

Bio:
On the surface Aya appears to come from a typical middle class family in the urban city hides the truth behind a smile and indulging in variety of hobbies. Aya’s parents had remarried and divorced for a second time after a closed incident proven having no involvement in part of the separation felt responsible because of it. Having neither side of the two families for any support Aya’s mother had had relocated to a new town in another city thanks to a good friend of the family accepting a nursing position in Angel Grove. It was Aya’s mother not only to start a new where they were not to be judge or blamed divorcing Aya’s for a second time, but for Aya’s sake alone.

Aya found the move hard at first leaving saying goodbye where she grew up and friend leaving behind in the process. Overtime she found the transition not only a chance to start anew as way to change by encounters with those Aya meets. Aya happens to be very acknowledgeable of Angel Grove’s history looks forward entering high school this year. What new encounters Aya shall find runs her imagination wild.

Name: Alex Carpenter

Age: 17

Ranger Position: Pink Phoenix Angel Ranger

Appearance:

Given his lack of height and youthful appearance, it's normal for Alex to be mistaken for a fifteen year old. His normally reserved mannerisms, high-end tenor voice, and effete appearance have also often caused others to conclude he's a girl. Alex doesn't appear to dress to either attract or throw off suspicion, choosing comfortable clothing that compliments his appearance. Occasionally he'll leap to the flamboyant end of the gender-presentation spectrum, explicitly wearing clothing meant for girls, but never to the point of full cross-dressing. He's gathered a reputation as being something of a trap, and has more than a few rumors flying about concerning him as a result- though he always grins and refuses to comment in response.

Physically, Alex is a modest 5'3, very short for his age. His eyes are a pale blue and his frame is incredibly slight. Despite his lean build, he has a surprising amount of muscle due to a consistent work-out schedule and a few martial arts courses taken during childhood and continued off-and-on through his teen years under his belt, but it's usually hard to notice since it's hidden beneath his clothing- he wears long sleeves, using light-colored ones with easy-breathing fabrics during the summer months, and often picks jeans which seem a bit tighter than strictly necessary. His skin is fair and burns easily. His hair is dirty blonde- or was, before he inexplicably dyed it several times, for a while running through every color of the rainbow before settling on what he has now- complete, glossy black. His hair is also slightly longer than the normal 'guy' length, and is worn in an immaculately-combed ponytail.

Personality: Those who know Alex outside of his role as the Pink Angel have surprisingly made no connection between the school's 'trap' and the surprisingly-male hero- in part because Alex's personality takes a dramatic shift. Normally reserved, a bit shy, and prone to shrugging off criticism or hatred with a smile and nod, as an Angel he fights with an aggression and penchant for grand-standing which belies his role as the 'girly one'. Aside from his penchant for grinding insects into the ground with extreme prejudice, Alex is an extremely friendly, caring sort. He's the first to volunteer to do the dirty work in group study projects, and has a knack for spotting people who are having a bad day and need a kind word or piece of encouragement. In many ways, he tends to adopt the role of someone's 'older brother' figure when he can tell they need one- and sometimes when they don't want one.

Alex's major fault, if his antics as a Ranger are any indication, lies in serious repression. He can have a bad day or endure a particularly cutting insult with nothing but a smile and a nod to his tormentor or the world in general, but someone can and will feel the pain somewhere else. A jab about his (apparent) sexual orientation will result in a reckless, brutal attack striking a monster's face later. Tripping him on the way to class may result in him walking into the nearest alley, looking for trouble. When Alex snaps, it's best to move out of the way, because something or someone is going to get hurt.

When he isn't angry at the world, Alex seems to revel in his position as the first male Pink Ranger, going out of his way to show off during his pre-and-post-morph poses, and sometimes showing off with his powers during combat just a bit more than necessary. In Ranger form only, he will occasionally take advantage of the inability of those who don't already know his identity to accurately gauge his gender, playing off expectations or opponent sympathies to strike cheap shots. He has a playful relationship with his spirit, who is one of the few beings (or people) capable of calming him down after a particularly bad snap.

Other:

Alex's secret talents involve mastery of the basics of certain martial arts, and skill as a stage magician, capable of performing basic card tricks and illusions (he'll occasionally hide his Bio Card amid normal playing cards just to remove it for dramatic effect).

Jasmine has a vaguely pretty face. She naturally has black hair, but dyed it blonde on a whim one day and liked the way it looked. When around her family, Jasmine dresses somewhat formally and kind of nerdily. She mainly wears sweaters and white button downs for shirts, khakis for pants, and sneakers for shoes. Jasmine dresses basically like daddy’s perfect little girl when she’s around her parents. When she’s not however she dresses entirely differently. She ditches the cardigans for tank tops, tube tops, and t-shirts. She gets rid of the khakis for torn up old jeans and her sneakers get replaced with combat boots. She often throws a leather jacket on as well but not always. When out, Jazz ties her hair into a ponytail and wears a hand-me-down black baseball cap on top of it. On occasion she wears a pair of large Aviator sunglasses over her eyes or in her hair. She has a tattoo of a shark on her upper right arm, which is covered around her parents.

Personality: As evidenced by the way she dresses around her parents, Jasmine likes playing the role of daddy’s little girl when her parents are around. She acts as if she’d never even think of doing anything along the lines of pumping her own gas, let alone be fighting an evil cult of monsters. She is the perfect child to her parents. However she is actually a defiant rocker girl at heart. Jazz isn’t rude or anything, she just has problems with authority. If she doesn’t like you or doesn’t trust you she will straight up not listen to you or obey your orders. She is the most down to Earth member of her family by far compared to her greedy family. Jazz is charitable and loves helping people. She is actually very athletic, loving to go out and play sports. In particular she is good at soccer and is a very good boxer, which is how she gets her exercise. Jazz loves animals to death, often feeding stray cats and dogs. She is not fond of birds though. Jazz isn’t bright but at the same time she’s not stupid. She just kind of has average intelligence. Jazz intends to be a medical professional of some kind for her college education. Jazz is very much a nerd (though you wouldn’t know it looking at her). She also enjoys classic rock music.

Bio: Jasmine comes from a very wealthy family. Her father is a partner at one of Angel Grove’s biggest law firms. Jasmine was technically born in Los Angeles but her parents moved to Angel Grove two or three months later. Jasmine’s parents weren’t happy they had to move to such a “small†town compared to LA but they did it because it was a better job for her father and he didn’t think twice about it. Jasmine’s family likes to keep to themselves. Her father is either always working or always playing golf with his buddies. Her mother is a socialite and is almost always out partying with her friends. As a result Jasmine was basically raised by her nanny until she was about fifteen. At that time she began subtly rebelling against what her parents did. Nothing major, but she just wanted to be herself. Jasmine redubbed herself Jazz Mercury to mentally break away from her parents. Jazz being a shortened version of her name, spelled to emulate one of her favorite types of music, and Lance after Dinah Lance, the second Black Canary.

Jazz had always looked upto the Power Rangers. She found the things they did and the sacrifices they must have endured inspiring. They were basically superheroes, and there were so many of them. She was actually out one day when the Power Rangers Zeo had to fight a monster. Her parents had always looked down on these teens as unruly vigilantes and no more. However, Jazz always looked upto them and wanted to be like them. Needless to say she jumped at the chance to become a Power Ranger, especially the chance to be the first female Green. She is known to her teammates as Jazz Lance and never once told them her real identity.
