Flay Now Has A Trailer
The long-delayed horror flick Flay has overcome its legal hurdles and will be released at last this April. And to prove it, there’s a new trailer out.
If you know the story of Slenderman, then you know the story of Flay. There’s a creepy man in the woods, and he has no face! Flay stars Alita : Battle Angel’s Elle LaMont, Violett Beane (The Flash), Phantasm star A. Michael Baldwin. Dalton Gray (Lazer Team, Dumber and Dumber To), Johnny Walter, Aaron Spivey-Sorrells, Peggy Schott, Kaylee King and Noe de la Garza. It was written and directed by Eric Pham and produced by Phame Factory.
If you don’t know what we’re talking about when we mentioned a delay, this film was completed in 2017 but had to be temporarily shelved. Sony theatened a lawsuit against Phame Factory, makers of the picture, due to similarities between its plot and the Slenderman mythos, which Sony had a movie in the works about. (But we doubt Sony actually owns the legend of Slenderman wholesale).
Now Sony and Phame Factory have reached a settlement, and Pham is free to release his picture. Also, Sony’s Slenderman movie came and went without a blip on the cultural radar, so Sony has no reason to care anymore.
“I’m now very happy to say that we obtained a very favorable resolution of this lawsuit and finally have the legal right to release our feature film,” says Eric Pham on behalf of Phame Factory.
Look out for Flay when it stalks VOD platforms April 2.
