Since it was announced that the people behind both Flash and Arrow would help create Supergirl on CBS, the question of whether the shows would crossover has been on the minds of fans since the beginning. With Supergirl getting an automatic full season due to its order, and getting cemented after its first few weeks, the rumors intensified. At first it was denied for “legal reasons” but now, it appears we are in fact going to get it via the March 18th episode of Supergirl. As The Flash and Supergirl executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg released a statement sharing how excited they are simply that it is happening.
“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl — The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up!” the statement reads. “We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”
It should be noted at this time that it’s unclear how, or even why, the shows will crossover. Likely, it’ll involve the “breaches” that’re a keep story in Flash Season 02 right now. We’ll reveal more once we know more.
