The cult angle also interests me since it adds human danger on top of supernatural danger. I always find it more frightening when the human characters act with extreme beliefs. The cast looks solid, especially Lauren Esposito, and knowing the SFX artist has real experience makes me think the creature form will look good. I plan to watch it because I want to see if the story chooses to save her, change her, or let her go full wolf.

I think the idea is fine, but the title makes me confused. “First Moon” is not a phrase I hear often, so it does not give me an immediate idea of what kind of movie it is. If I saw it on a menu, I would not know it was about werewolves. I think a clearer title would help it reach more people. Still, the creature effects might carry it. I am more interested in the emotional part. A young woman trapped, not knowing if she will live or die, and not knowing what she is turning into. That situation alone creates pressure, even before the cult appears. I want to see how the film shows her fear and her decisions. If she tries to talk her way out or if she tries to break out by force. Horror is better for me when the main character is allowed to think and not only scream.

For me, the big selling point is Thomas E. Surprenant working on the creature design. I watch a lot of older shows like Deep Space Nine and Buffy, so I recognize his work. I like practical effects when possible, so I hope this movie uses more real makeup instead of too much CGI. Even if the story is simple, good creature work makes me happy.
