Finally, The 1000th One Piece Is Dubbed

It’s a special day at Crunchyroll — or rather it will be in a few hours, but it probably is by the time you’re reading this. As of now, the company — and Funimation before it — has dubbed a thousand episodes of One Piece.

The 1000th One Piece, part of the Wano arc, first aired in Japan in November of 2021 and became available in a subtitled version around the world shortly after. Those who prefer dubs have had to wait quite a while for the English version to catch up to that point, but it finally has. Episodes 989 – 1,000 of One Piece are scheduled to debut on Crunchyroll in English tomorrow.

It’s a big month in general for One Piece. The Japanese version just ran one of its most standout episodes ever, the animated debut of Luffy’s Gear 5 — and what animation it was! Fifth Gear turns Luffy into a cartoon character — we mean even more than he already is. The Fifth Gear transformation was rendered with the most lavish animation One Piece has displayed to date. It’s too bad we’ll have to wait so darn long to see that in English, if the wait for Episode 1000 is any indication!

In addition, August is also the month Netflix premieres its live-action take on One Piece — it happens at the end of the month. Whether it catches on or not — and none of Netflix’s anime adaptions have caught on — it’s also very expensive, with the various ships being real-sized props and the CGI of the Devil Fruit powers not coming cheap. Don’t expect more than eight episodes is what we’re saying.

Crunchyroll will have the dub versions of episodes 989 – 1,000 of One Piece tomorrow, August 15. The show is also on Netflix, Hulu and appears weekends on Toonami.

I never liked One Piece because I cannot stand male characters with old lady voices.

Finally, the dub of One Piece catches up to the 1000th episode milestone. Waiting for it to come out in English has been a test of patience. I mean, it's been forever since the Wano arc started in Japan. I am tired of reading subtitles. But hey, better late than never. Crunchyroll's got our backs. Can't wait to binge-watch episodes 989 – 1,000 and experience the excitement with the English voices.

Man, that last episode where Luffy unleashed his Gear 5 was mind-blowing! The animation was off the charts. Fifth Gear made Luffy look even crazier – in a good way. I am sure dub fans cant wait for it drop in English. But seriously, why does the wait have to be so long? Episode 1000 has been a treat for sub people like me so the dub fans are going to love it.

You know, it's always been a bummer that the dub was so far behind, but now things are changing. The gap between the episodes is getting smaller, and they're releasing the dubbed episodes faster. I can't wait to watch the "Wano Country" arc in English on Crunchyroll. And did you see? They even showed the 1000th episode at Anime Expo! I'm really looking forward to catching up without worrying about spoilers.

As a dub fan, I am glad They're releasing dubbed episodes faster, and I think it's because more people want to watch anime in English sooner. I'm so stoked for the "Wano Country" arc on Crunchyroll! And did you know they showed the 1000th episode at Anime Expo? Finally, us dub fans can enjoy One Piece without falling behind.

Finally! One Piece English dub catching up with the Japanese episodes. It's been a while coming, but they're releasing dubbed episodes faster now. I think this change is because fans want to enjoy the show in English not long after it airs in Japan. The "Wano Country" arc is heading to Crunchyroll with the English dub, and they even revealed the 1000th episode at Anime Expo. Finally, we can keep up without worrying about spoilers or being way behind.

Well, I read through this article about the One Piece English dub trying to catch up with the Japanese version. It's amusing, really. You see, I've always been a staunch supporter of the subs, finding the original voices and nuances to be unmatched. It's a bit amusing how the dub is making efforts to bridge the gap. I've savored the subbed episodes for years, enjoying the authenticity and depth they bring. While I appreciate the effort, I can't help but hold onto my preference for the subs. There's just something irreplaceable about that original experience, you know?
