Is Final Fantasy XII Getting a Remake?
Ladies and gentlemen, we live in an age where no game is too old or too young to be remade and/or remastered. For some, that might be an odd statement, but with the push in technology, especially in graphics and our ability to refine them, nothing is out of the realm of redoing.
Several franchises and singular titles have been remade. Sometimes game that’s been out less than two years has been remade. One franchise that has been getting several remakes or re-masterings is Final Fantasy. The franchise has actually gone through several remakes over the course of the last decade or so, the latest of which is the long-desired remake of Final Fantasy VII.
However, according to Gamer Headlines, one of the more recent titles in the franchise is getting a remake. Final Fantasy XII. In case you don’t recall, this was the last “true” Final Fantasy game on the PS2 back in 2006. This was followed by the trio of Lightning titles in FF XIII for the PS3/PS4.
In a Final Fantasy concert, the composer for the original game, Hitoshi Sakimoto, told fans that the game was indeed being remade. No official word has come from Sony or Square-Enix about this, so there should be some skepticism for the time being.
