Eternals, The critics don’t like it.

Eternals is currently being roasted by critics at  Rotten  Tomatoes. It made many headlines when it got the lowest critics rating in the history of Marvel Cinematic Universe. Shang-chi is currently 92 percent fresh from the critics and it got 98% fresh from the audience scores.  That positive scores resonates with it’s box office performance as it already earned $422,844,767 Venom: Let there be Carnage is 61% fresh from the critics and 84% from the audience.  It benefited from the momentum of Shang-chi as it made $356,901,558 in the box office. I cannot judge Eternals yet as I have never watched it and Critics have different opinions from the audience sometimes.

I don’t think it’s fair to judge a movie that is not yet in the theaters as I had seen movies praised by critics but flopped. Meanwhile, there are critical flops that became box office hits. The Right-Wing Vloggers are desperately wanting this movie to flop after they got embarrassed by their failed projections for Shang-Chi and Venom. Eternals is banned in China but being Banned in China did not stop Shang-chi from being to close to half a billion. Even if this movie is banned in China, It can still do well despite the low scores from critics.

Eternals have a diverse all-star cast with recognizable names.

They played the least mainstream Marvel characters but their A-list status can carry the movie. Angelina Jolie alone proved that she can put butts on the theater seats. Oscar-Winning director Chloe Zhao could pull off her magic again with this film.

It is not the typical superhero film and based on the trailers I had seen, It will focus more on characters and world-building. Adrenaline Junkies wanting action and spectacle may dislike this film. This movie will be more of an analog to Watchmen than the Avengers.
