In 2018, The Office’s John Krasinski proved he wasn’t just a one-trick pony by directing, co-writing and starring in A Quiet Place, an innovative new horror film about a world taken over by killer creatures from another planet who are blind, but have super-sensitive hearing. If you make any noise at all, they hear you and zip over to eat you up, setting the stage for a movie that brilliantly hung its suspense on silence.

The movie did well enough that we’re getting a sequel two years later….also directed and co-written by Krasinski, though he won’t be appearing onscreen this time due to spoilerific events from the first film. When we last left the surviving members of the Abbott family, they had inadvertently stumbled upon a method of fighting back against the monsters just when all seemed lost. Turns out little Regan’s hearing aid can emit a high-pitched squeal that sends the creatures into a paralyzed state, leaving them open for execution.

Now humanity has hope….but only if they can get this information to the right people. And it doesn’t look like the folks the family meets in this trailer are the right people at all. They run into a survivalist played by Cillian Murphy, but can he be trusted? Decide for yourself:

A Quiet Place 2 will be released March 20, 2020 by Paramount.
