Guildford based Bright Light Studio’s lights have gone out for good as EA has axed the developer.
Bright Light Studio is no more. The EA owned developer best known for a trio of Harry Potter games ceased operations late last year while going into a consultation period which has now ended. Certain staff members have moved onto different studios within EA while other have left completely to join other development studios not affiliated with EA.
Former General Manager, Harvey Elliot is no longer working with EA and is believed to be taking a hiatus from the industry.
The studio was said to have been working on an unannounced “Maxis IP” sim project in the works.
Bright Light Studio was originally formed in 2008 and is best known for its unique Nintendo DS titles, Zubo and Flips as well as 3 different licensed Harry Potter games.
We at TheParanoidGamer wish the best to the former Bright Light Studio employees.
