Dying Light: Introducing Nightmare Mode
The upcoming Enhanced Edition for Dying Light: The Following will feature a number of new features and improvements over the original game. One such feature is a new difficulty mode that will offer a significantly “nightmarish” challenge to players.
Techland has released a new episode of its “Highlights” video series for Dying Light that highlights one of the new features for Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition. One of the new features includes a new difficulty level for the game, which is appropriately dubbed Nightmare Mode. You can check out th enew video in the player below.
Nightmare Mode looks like it will offer a significant, new challenge for players. The new mode prevents players from using overpowered Easter Egg weapons, XP penalties for dying, enemies are stronger and more. Producer Tymon Smektala stated on the new mode: “We’ve designed the Nightmare Mode for those seeking a really challenging and immersive experience. Nightmare Mode takes everything that was brutal in our Hard Mode and twists it even more. We’re trying to bring the Dying Light experience closer and closer to the feeling of a real apocalypse survival experience where every move you make can really determine if you live or die. We’ve added one bit of salvation though. Playing Nightmare Mode in co-op will earn you XP faster and increase your chance of finding gold tier weapons.”
Nightmare Mode will be part of The Following DLC launch. Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition arrives on February 9 for Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will be available as a physical disc release or a digital download. Players who already have the base version of the game will be able to buy the expansion The Following individually as DLC.
