Dying Light: #DrinkForDLC Content Revealed
Techland has finally revealed the additional free content for the zombie survival horror game, Dying Light, based off of the developer’s social media health campaign under the hashtag #DrinkForDLC. The campaign encouraged players to drink water and stay hydrated. Per Techland, the campaign reached more than 15 million people and over 15,00 creative photos and videos were release for the campaign with fans drinking water along with other expressions of support.
Techland has designed a free, three-part DLC pack for Dying Light, that players will have access to completely free of charge. The new pack includes a new exploration-based quest in Old Town, a new throwable weapon blueprint and two-new parkour challenges. Here’s the full lineup for the #DrinkForDLC pack:
- The Fountain of Youth – all-new exploration-based quest available in the Old Town area.
- Water 2.0 – blueprint for a new throwable weapon that intensifies the electrocution effect of all other weapons.
- Water Challenges – two brand-new parkour challenges designed around the theme of water.
The pack won’t be available until early next year in February. It will be included with the Dying Light: the Following – Enhanced Edition release. That doesn’t mean players are out of luck if they already own Dying Light. Owners of the original game will receive the #DrinkForDLC pack with the free improvements update, which will be released the same day as the Enhanced Edition.
Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition will be Techland’s full and deluxe version of the original game, plus the new expansion The Following along with all the updates and DLC that have been released so far for the game. Dying Light Season pass holders will receive The Following Expansion for no extra charge. Players who do not own the Season Pass will still have access to the free updates and the #DrinkForDLC pack. Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition hits the shelves on February 9, 2016 for PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
