don't make a sound

Don’t Make A Sound Comes To Streaming And DVD February 11

When you hear about an indie horror film that calls itself “Don’t Make A Sound,” you might expect it to be a low-budget ripoff of the Quiet Place series, but it is not. The reason the central characters of this story can’t make a sound is not because of killer aliens, but simply a killer person.

The setup is a classic one: the middle of nowhere, a deranged killer, no other means of assistance. A nameless woman is driving across the country, taking her ten-year-old sister to stay with relatives after the passing of their mother. But then, one nasty run of bad luck occurs: their car breaks down, and the only way to seek help is to venture into the vast forest. They don’t find it, they find the aforementioned deranged killer, who starts hunting them down. Don’t Make A Sound is also a found footage movie, so whatever’s happening, someone had to be recording it.

Don’t Make A Sound stars Junie Liv Thomasson, Saga Muro Johnson, Dante B. Salazar, Christian Sorokin, Daniel S. Carlan, Kristen Duff, Nancy Anne Ridder (Scream), and Angela Grimm. It was directed by Jt Kris (Ghosts of Amityville, Ouija Clown, The Arkansas Pigman Massacre) and will be distributed by SRS Cinema February 11 on DVD and streaming.

Found footage films have been done to death, haven't they? I mean, the concept of "Don't Make A Sound" sounds intriguing with its human antagonist, but will it just be another shaky-cam mess where you can't see anything? I'll give it a shot because the cast seems promising, but I'm not holding my breath. Christian Sorokin as the killer could be the highlight, though. His presence might make or break this film.

Sounds like a gripping watch! I enjoy horror that builds tension through silence rather than jump scares. The idea of being hunted in the woods with nowhere to run, just like in "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" but with a modern twist, really appeals to me. The trailer gave me chills, and I'm curious to see how they handle the found footage aspect without turning viewers away. February 11 can't come soon enough!

As someone whose family loves horror, this film's plot hits close to home. The idea of protecting a younger sibling in such a terrifying situation... it's heart-wrenching yet thrilling. I hope the film does justice to that emotional bond and doesn't just use it as a backdrop for gore. The cast seems capable, and I'm particularly impressed with the young actors. I'll definitely be watching this with my family.

This movie "Don't Make A Sound" really reminds me of "The Hills Have Eyes" with its premise of being stranded and hunted in a desolate, dangerous place. The raw, human terror of being pursued by a deranged killer in the woods echoes the relentless, brutal survival struggle in "The Hills Have Eyes." It's the same kind of tense, atmosphere where every sound you make could be your last.
