Keep reading to learn more about the album and the upcoming vinyl release.
Disney Goes Country: Inside Disneyโs Main Street Country EP
Disney soundtracks are known for their excellent storytelling, emotion, and unforgettable melodies. With the release of Main Street Country, Walt Disney Records continues that legacy through the lens of modern country music. Released on April 3, 2026, the fiveโtrack EP is their latest genre crossover from their very successful Mickey & Friends music series,
The album pairs beloved Disney songs with contemporary country artists who grew up with them. As a result, it feels authentic rather than a novelty cash grab.
What Is Disneyโs Main Street Country EP?

Disneyโs Main Street Country celebrates the shared values between Disney and country music: heart, nostalgia, and stories that resonate across generations. To that end, the EP invited several popular artists to reinterpret the songs in their own way, including
- Kane Brown & Katelyn Brown
- Restless Road
- Dasha
- Maddie & Tae
- BRELAND
Disney described it as an evolution rather than a reinvention, letting the artists retexture the songs with honest emotion while honoring their original spirit. The artists returned the sentiment, noting how much they enjoyed the opportunity Disney gave them.
Disneyโs Main Street Country Track List and Song Details
1. โBeauty and the Beastโ โ Kane Brown & Katelyn Brown
โBeauty and the Beastโ is the first song on Disney’s Main Street Country album. Performed as a duet by Kane Brown and Katelyn Brown, the version of the Oscarโwinning ballad from 1991โs Beauty and the Beast is an intimate, heartfelt arrangement that highlights the originalโs emotional core.
For the Browns, the song is deeply personal. Both artists have publicly mentioned their familyโs longstanding connection to Disney. During an interview for this compilation, Kane Brown noted that:
โOur whole family is captivated by the magic of Disney, and we go every year for our daughter, Kingsleyโs, birthday.โ
Katelyn Brown continued by saying:
โIt truly is a dream come true for Kane and I to sing โBeauty & The Beastโ together and to be part of such an amazing legacy,โ
As a result, the performance feels genuinely personal and nostalgic.
2. โThe Climbโ โ Restless Road
Originally from 2009โs Hannah Montana: The Movie, โThe Climbโ is a song about perseverance and selfโgrowth. So, it makes sense that country trio Restless Road leaned into those themes. The end result feels genuinely country, with rich harmonies and a stripped-back arrangement that feels at home in modern country music.
During interviews for this Disney’s Main Street Country album, the group noted that:
โBringing our sound into the world of Disney, which celebrates imagination, family, and timeless storytelling, is surreal in the best way. Itโs an incredible honor to represent country music in a space that reaches so many ears and hearts.โ
3. โSheโs So Goneโ โ Dasha
โSheโs So Goneโ comes from the 2011 Disney Channel Original Movie Lemonade Mouth with an empowering message about independence and self-expression. Dasha gave it a confident and modern update with a contemporary country edge.
Dasha often referred to the song as one of Disneyโs most iconic songs. Reiterating on this, she said:
โI remember watching Lemonade Mouth for the first time, and the whole movie had me plotting how I was going to reinvent myself before school the next day. This track really captures that moment when women find themselves and boldly show the world who they are. Iโm so excited to share this with a new generation and remind them that they can reinvent themselves and be exactly who they want to be.โ
4. โYouโll Be in My Heartโ โ Maddie & Tae
Few songs have the emotional impact of Phil Collinsโ โYouโll Be in My Heartโ from 1999โs Tarzan. Luckily, Maddie & Tae had the talent to do it justice. The duo blended the songโs original tenderness with acoustic country elements to create a warm yet restrained version.
Unfortunately, Disney’s Main Street Country was their final performance together. Luckily, they went out on a high note. In response, they noted how:
โGetting to sing one of our favorite Disney songs feels like coming full circle for us. We grew up on these soundtracks, so to be able to contribute to Disneyโs legacy is surreal. And knowing this is one of our final releases together as Maddie & Tae makes it even more meaningful. It feels like weโre honoring the little girls we were, and the magical journey weโve been on together.โ
5. โGo the Distanceโ โ BRELAND
Finally, BRELAND closes out the EP with a rendition of โGo the Distanceโ from the 1997 hit Hercules. While easily recognizable, it feels like an original country song in purpose and determination.
Discussing the song, BRELAND said:
โThe Hercules soundtrack always really spoke to me. Getting to create some of that same Disney magic that shaped my childhood โฆ is easily one of the most special things Iโve done as an artist.โโฏ
Disneyโs Main Street Country is Going Vinyl in May
Walt Disney Music released all five tracks in the Disney’s Main Street Country collection diitally, on April 3, 2026. So, you should find them wherever you get music, such as Amazon, Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube.
However, you must wait until May 15, 2026, to receive a physical release for your collection. Thatโs when Disney will reissue the album on vinyl, which is currently up for pre-order.
They have also hinted that there might be other formats in the future, alongside future country music cover compilations from their Mickey & Friends collection.
Final Thoughts: Why Disney’s Main Street Country Works
Rather than a simple compilation, Disneyโs Main Street Country allows the country artists to retell their personal stories without changing whatโs already there. As such, the album feels both nostalgic and new, successfully bridging the gap between generations, genres, and musical traditions.
