Encanto 2nd trailer

Encanto will be coming to theaters this November 21

Disney’s Encanto will introduce Colombian culture to an international stage. Coco represented Mexican culture and not it is Colombia’s turn. The Latin American region have diverse cultures but people have tendencies to mix them up.

Encanto is about the Madrigal family. They live in a magical homestead from the Colombian mountains called Encanto that they nicknamed Casita. A sentient home with magic and life of its own.

This piece of land has gifted everyone born from the Madrigal family superpowers. Their powers are unique so no Madrigal has the same powers. Luisa has super strength that she uses to do errands at the house because of her powerful biceps. Isabella is blessed with beauty and the ability to emit and summon flowers. Pepa can control the weather. Antonio, the youngest cousin can talk and control animals.

Every single member of the family got special abilities except for the Nerdy glasses-wearing Mirabel(Stephanie Beatriz). Despite her situation, Mirabel has no malice or extreme jealousy of her family members. Mirabel kept a positive attitude even if she doesn’t have powers.

Mirabel, the only Madrigal with no powers will discover that her family’s magic is in danger and it is only her who could save it. It will be interesting if Disney will make Mirabel join the Disney Princess franchise as a representative of Hispanic girls and glasses-wearing girls. Her quirky and nerdy personality will resonate with many people in the audience. Her motivation is also her family instead of a love interest.

This movie will feature songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda who also made the songs for Moana. It will be directed by Byron Howard(Tangled) and Jared Bush, (Zootopia and Moana). Those names alone will be enough hype for people to watch this because these names have already proven they can deliver.
