Death Star DLC and Skirmish Mode Coming To Battlefront
Battlefront has been at the forefront of rumors and speculation as of late. Mainly around rumors of an offline mode coming to the game along with new levels and heroes.
EA has not only confirmed these rumors, but has officially blocked out the release for the upcoming months.
First up, there is an offline mode coming, it is called Skirmish, and according to lead designer Dennis Brannvall it “offers players the option to play offline against bots in a solo mission or with a friend using co-op split screen (console only.)” The mode will arrive on July 20th.
Also, there will be difficulty options for Skirmish mode, ones that apply to both modes:
“With multiple locations that span the galaxy, from the frozen planet of Hoth to the lava encrusted planet of Sullust, we hope Skirmish brings players a new way to enjoy Star Wars Battlefront,” Brannvall added.
Furthermore, EA will have more in-game events, ones that include new Hutt Contracts, and trials to explore Bespin, aka Cloud City.
Finally, in Septmeber, a Death Star expansion will be available to season pass holders. It introduces new ground and space maps, weapons, Star Cards, and two heroes. One of these characters is described as “larger-than-life” and someone developer DICE knows players have been waiting for. This could be a number of fan-favorite characters, and its likely we’ll here who it is soon.
