Teen Titans, Legion of Super-Heroes, and Doom Patrol Relaunch Under DC Next Level in September

DC is relaunching three team books at once. Legion of Super-Heroes, Teen Titans, and The Doom Patrol all launch new ongoing series on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, under the DC Next Level banner. They join earlier Next Level launches like Batwoman, Lobo, Deathstroke: The Terminator, Firestorm, Zatanna, Barbara Gordon: Breakout, and The Deadman. The announcement went out this morning on DC’s blog.

The pitch for the line hasn’t changed: standalone-friendly books inside main continuity. “These books are set in continuity,” said DC co-architect Joshua Williamson. “While the series will be independent reads and not heavily tied to other books, they will exist alongside DC’s ongoing comic book series like Superman, Batman, Justice League Unlimited, and more.” Co-architect Scott Snyder put it in Absolute terms: “Like the Absolute line, this is an initiative that welcomes new readers looking for a jumping-on spot for DC’s main line of comic books.”

Legion of Super-Heroes

Williamson writes this one himself, with art and covers by Hayden Sherman. The setup: one thousand years after Superman’s rocket landed on the Kent farm, superheroes are outlawed and enforcers called the Persuaders police the United Planets. Someone has murdered R.J. Brande. A mysterious Brainiac 1 of 5 has to solve the murder and assemble a legion of gifted young rebels scattered across the cosmos. The debut runs 40 pages. Variant covers come from Jim Lee (card stock and foil), Mark Spears, Yasmine Putri, Sherman, Dan Mora (a Michael J. Fox cameo cover), and V Ken Marion (1:25).

Teen Titans

Kyle Higgins and Daniele Di Nicuolo, the team behind Power Rangers: Shattered Grid, launch a new generation: Fairplay, Cheshire Cat, Proxy, and Wildcard. One of their own vanishes after a rally for Ascend, a youth movement training kids to survive superhuman conflict. The search for their friend means working with Red Hood. Jason thinks they’re soft and reckless. They don’t understand how he can still kill people. Variants come from Dan Mora (card stock and foil), Jim Cheung, Sanford Greene (1:25), and Hayden Sherman, plus a blank sketch cover.

The Doom Patrol

The Doom Patrol is broke, so the world’s strangest heroes adopt a heroes-for-hire model. Their first case is a missing cat, which of course proves to be anything but simple. Meanwhile, a ghost from the team’s past prepares to cross back into their world. Little Bird writer Darcy Van Poelgeest and Pride of Baghdad artist Niko Henrichon are the creative team. DC says more Next Level books are coming. The names it floated include Jeff Lemire, Greg Rucka, Mariko Tamaki, Skottie Young, Deniz Camp, and W. Maxwell Prince.
