Marvel Entertainment has confirmed that actor Scott Glenn will reprise his role of Stick for Daredevil Season 2. The new season is set to premiere next year on Netflix. Stick only had one episode last season, but it was definitely one of the best ones of the season. Not to mention, his storyline was left open, and there were a lot of unanswered questions regarding Stick, the Black Sky, Wilson Fisk’s “business partner” from Japan and also the mysterious figure Stick reported to in the episode’s epilogue. The man had a resemblance to a scene from the comics involving the character of Stone, and he referenced Murdock being ready to a “open a door.” It was a suggestion that there was a more mysterious world out there for the series, and hopefully it will be explored next season.
Marvel has also revealed that in the second season, Stick will return in Daredevil’s life when Matt Murdock needs him the least. Stick returns for a new mission that Matt wants no part of. The best news is that while Glenn only had one episode as Stick last season, this season he will be in three episodes.
Speaking on the announcement Daredevil executive producer and Marvel Head of TV Jeph Loeb stated: “After seeing Scott’s performance in the first season, we knew that we had to bring him back for more. He is an extraordinary actor and we leapt at the chance to expand on his adventures with Matt and Daredevil.”
Executive producer and showrunner Marco Ramirez added: “In some ways, Stick is to Marvel’s Daredevil what Scott Glenn has been to film and TV – a magnetic and awesome force to be reckoned with. It’s an honor to welcome him back, and the Daredevil team can’t wait to unleash Scott’s unique brand of bad-assery upon the world in Season 2.”
Marvel’s Daredevil is produced by Marvel TV in association with ABC studios. The first season is currently available on Netflix. Season 2 will premiere sometime next year on the streaming service.
