That’s right, the makers of the Total War series have stated that they are making their next Total War game. Their previous title, Total War: Shogun 2 has tremendous success along with every other title in the franchise. Creative Assembly’s Studio Director, Tim Heaton said in a Eurogamer interview that they were finishing Total War: Shogun, “Absolutely, we’re on the next.”

With Creative Assembly making sequels for Medieval and then Shogun, the next obvious choice is a sequel to Rome: Total War, arguably the best one by some of its fans. If not that, then maybe the period after Empire: Total War, which is a WWI game, but I personally don’t think sending waves of troops from trenches to get mauled down by machine guns over and over again is all that fun, so I’m hoping for a Rome 2 game.
