Pluto Dinerama Overview and Game Setting

So you’ve decided to open a diner on Pluto. Well, you’re not the only one! Two to five other people just constructed restaurants on the same dwarf sub-planet at the same time. And THEN the growing market wound up attracting Big Oppressive Business, as it usually does, and the giant conglomerate Rival Diner opened a huge attractive branch on Pluto to suck in all the dollars (or whatever currency they use on Pluto)! How will you survive?

Pluto Dinerama has a unique gameplay strategy that is both cooperative and competitive. The tabletop card game played in rounds. Each round is comprised of a Morning, Day, and Night. During the Morning, players will line up customers and discover their needs, abilities, quotes and requirements to meet in order to seat them. In the Afternoon, players will install ambience, add to the menu, and hire employees during their turn for a chance to seat the first customer in line. During the Night, players will draw a strategic, creative or game event and compete in a social game that will build out their unique world.

Pluto Dinerama Rounds
Rounds are called Days and consist of a morning, afternoon, and night in Pluto Dinerama.

The Cooperative Game Twist

Early on in the game, you’ll need to work with the other players to take down Rival Diner. Once they’re gone, your only competition will be each other, so you have to fight for singular dominance. There are only a finite number of customers and they’ll head to the place they like the most. The first player to successfully seat ten customers at once is the winner.

Frank Spiro and Jesse Shamon bring a wealth of creative experience to Pluto Dinerama. Spiro’s background in screenwriting and Shamon’s expertise in sci-fi and fantasy design have combined to create a game that promises both strategic depth and imaginative world-building. Their collaboration on this project reflects their shared passion for storytelling and game design, making Pluto Dinerama a highly anticipated release in the tabletop gaming community.

Pluto Dinerama is for two to five players ages 10 and up. Each game takes 60 to 90 minutes to play. More to come when the Kickstarter launches. Sign up on the Pluto Dinerama site to reserve your Kickstarter launch invite. Follow along with the game’s journey on Instagram.

This Pluto Dinerama game sounds super cool! I love the idea of building a diner on Pluto. It's like a mix of strategy and creativity, which is totally my jam. Managing customers, designing the menu, and competing with other diners sounds really fun. Can't wait to see how the social game element plays out

This Pluto Dinerama thing is bringing back some serious old-school board game vibes. Remember those classic diner games where you were trying to balance customers and food? This sounds like a modern twist on that, but with a spacey, competitive edge. I'm intrigued by the cooperative element to take down Rival Diner. It's like those classic co-op board games, but with a diner theme. I'm just hoping it doesn't get too complicated with all the cards and stuff. I like my games simple, but with a bit of strategy.

Pluto Dinerama? This sounds like my kind of game. I love a good challenge, and building a successful diner while competing with others? Count me in. The morning, afternoon, and night structure is interesting. It adds a layer of complexity that I appreciate. I’m curious about how the social game element works. If it involves bluffing or negotiation, even better. I'm ready to dive deep into the strategy and outsmart my opponents.

A diner game on Pluto? That sounds like a fun party game! I'm not the biggest board game fan, but this could be a good way to break the ice. I like the idea of working together to take down the big bad corporation, then competing for customers. It's like a real-life business simulation, but with aliens. As long as it's not too long or complicated, I'm in.

Pluto Dinerama is an interesting concept, but I have some questions. How does the game balance cooperation and competition? Will the cooperative phase feel rushed or tacked on? And how does the social game element really work? Will it be engaging and strategic, or just a filler? I'm intrigued, but I need more information before I'm convinced.

Pluto Dinerama? Sounds like a challenge. I love games where you can bend the rules a little. I'm already thinking of ways to exploit the game mechanics and find loopholes. The competitive aspect sounds promising. I'm ready to do whatever it takes to win.

This Pluto Dinerama game might be fun for a family game night. The age range seems right for my kids, and the cooperative aspect is great for teaching teamwork. I'm a bit worried about the competitive part, though. I hope it doesn't get too heated. I'd prefer something we can all enjoy together.
