If hacked lobbies and cheating wasn’t hurtful enough on Modern Warfare 1, players are now encountering a boot up error that will freeze up your console and make the game unplayable if signed in. That includes both the multiplayer and the single-player modes.
This is what many COD4 players are currently seeing upon boot up of the game. However, many people are claiming that there is a temporary fix, which you can find below.
Turn Console on
Unplug Ethernet Cord/ Turn off wireless
Launch COD
Go to Multiplayer and plug/turn back wireless on
Turn Console Off
Turn Router Off
Console On and go to network setting and re-establish connection to Router, so turn that back on.
Launch Cod
The bad thing is you must do this every time you want to play COD.
Hopefully Infinity Ward fixes this, even if the game already has two other sequels; that is still no excuse to leave the game broken like this, especially if your unaware of the issue and just want to play some single-player.

I got hacked while playing cod4 a year ago and it locked me out from choosing game modes, and it reset my level with quadrillion xp to level one. I can’t play unless i get a friend to invite me into their party. And infinity ward still hasn’t fixed it.
I was just on it and I had no problems. It was quite a refreshing break from MW3. Favorite maps were Creek and Overgrown, excellent for sniping. Ill have to go and check now to see if its working. Only time I seen hacking was when I went back to Mw2 shortly after black ops came out. The hacker was advertising his code on how to kill ppl from outside map. Got killed everytime I spawned.
What do you expect? It’s the PS3. almost every game that comes out on it is bugged and has problems. It’s been like that for the past 6 years and always loses in multiplatform comparisons.
ps3 only has so many bugs because it is cheaper for game manufacturers to make the game on the lower quality system(xbox) and port it to the ps3.
