This fall the Chainsaw Man series will premiere its first fully original feature-length film, Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc. But before then, two compilation films comprised of the first season will make their Western debut on the Crunchyroll app.
These compo films have never before been released outside of Japan and, in fact, DO contain some new content in the form of Chainsaw Days, an adaptation of the original manga’s bonus episodes. Both films will go live on the service sometime in September (the specific date has not been revealed).
Chainsaw Man takes place in a dark world where creatures known as Devils are spawned from the collective fears and negative thoughts of humanity. Someone’s gotta hunt them, and that guy was fearless teenager Denji, until he died. For a few minutes anyway, he found a way to cling to life by merging with his pet Devil Pochita. That act transformed him into the powerful Chainsaw Man. Now Denji can sprout chainsaws from any part of his body to instantly puree any monster in his path.
The series stars Kikunosuke Toya as Denji, Shiori Izawa as Pochita, Tomori Kusunoki as Makima, Shogo Sakata as Aki Hayakawa, Fairouz Ai as Power, Mariya Ise as Himeno, Karin Takahashi as Kobeni Higashiyama, Taku Yashiro as Hirokazu Arai and Kenjiro Tsuda as Kishibe. The English dub stars Ryan Colt Levy (My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission; Moriarty the Patriot) as Denji. Suzie Yeung (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba; Wonder Egg Priority) as Makima, Reagan Murdock (Dragon Ball Super; Don’t Hurt Me, My Healer!) as Aki and Sarah Wiedenheft (Black Clover; Dr. STONE; Dragon Ball Super) as Power.

Chainsaw Man – The Compilation: Part I
Denji is a teenager who lives his life as a Devil Hunter. Aiming to pay off the debt he inherited from his father, he starts hunting devils for the yakuza with his buddy Pochita, a “Chainsaw Devil”, while living a tragically poor life.
Just when things seem like they couldn’t get any worse, Denji is summoned by the yakuza.
Chainsaw Man – The Compilation: Part II
Becoming the “Chainsaw Man” and fighting with an insane, unhinged battle style, Denji finally succeeds in defeating the “Eternity Devil.”
After the battle, the members of Public Safety Devil Extermination Special Division 4 return to their daily lives and hold a “welcome party” for the new recruits.
During the party, Denji brings up the kiss that Himeno had promised him before the fight.
Consider these films a re-introduction and warm-up for the next chapter. Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc opens first in Japan September 19, then in the US October 29.
