Cargo Ships This August
See if you’ve heard this before: a man wakes up in a dark box with just a cell phone and a limited amount of air, being used as a pawn in a blackmail scheme for money. We would be describing the Ryan Reynolds thriller Buried, right? We would also be describing Cargo, the upcoming movie from Wild Eye Releasing, except the protagonist wakes up locked in a large cargo crate and he’s not as sympathetic as Reynolds’ character.
Ron Thompson plays Anthony Peterson, a ruthless businessman who literally becomes cargo. He has a lot of connections and his kidnappers are counting on that fact. Using only a cell phone, he has 24 hours to gather ten million dollars and wire it to the bad guys, or he won’t make it out of the shipping container alive.
Just like Reynolds in Buried, Thompson will be the only actor you see in Cargo. But you’ll hear the voices of Jose Rosete, Corbin Timbrook, Matthew Rosvally, Danika Fields and J.C. Maçek III, the latter of whom produced the film. Maçek also wrote the book novelization, which is out this very minute from Bloodhound Books. Check it out here.
Wild Eye will be releasing Cargo August 14, 2018. There doesn’t appear to be a way to embed the trailer, so follow this link to watch it…
