Call Of Duty Mobile Launches October 1

Activision has announced a release date for Call Of Duty Mobile and it’s soon. You’ll be able to start fiddling with the app October 1.

What is Call of Duty Mobile? It’s not a new Call of Duty game, but it is a lot of old ones. Think of it as the video game version of a sitcom clip show episode. Remember that time you played the Nuketown map? (audience noises) How about Crash of Hijacked? (more audience noises) They’re all here, playable in familiar modes like Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy and Free-For-All. Also, there’s a Battle Royale mode.

As you play, you’ll gradually unlock classic characters, weapons, scorestreaks and gear from the Call of Duty series. Note that this IS a free-to-play title so we’re sure the app will be pestering you to spend money on them instead.

“We are delivering the definitive, first person action experience in a new mobile title with incredible graphics and visceral Call of Duty gameplay,” says Chris Plummer, VP, Mobile at Activision. “Together with the amazing team at Tencent, we’re bringing together a collection of the most beloved maps, competitive modes, familiar characters and signature weapons from across this storied franchise into one epic experience for the first time on mobile.”

Call of Duty is synonymous with incredible quality and gameplay, and our team couldn’t be happier working together with Activision to bring it to life on mobile,” adds Steven Ma, SVP at Tencent Holdings Limited. “With our expertise creating games custom-built for mobile players, we’re excited to deliver a new, feature-packed Call of Duty experience that all types of fans will enjoy.”
