Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Campaign Lands on PlayStation 4 First

One of the great things about Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare‘s release is that it launches alongside a remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, one of the favorite gamers in the franchise. Activision officially announced today that the campaign portion of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been released to fans first for the PlayStation 4.

Fans have access to the new campaign if the pre-purchased Call of Duty: infinite Warfare Legacy or Digital Deluxe Editions on the PlayStation 4 version of the game. This gives them early access to the campaign of Modern Warfare 30 days before it launches on other platforms on November 4.

Captain Price returns in the remastered version, and gamers can experience such classic missions as “All Ghillied Up,” “Shock and Awe,” and “Charlie Don’t Surf.” The visuals for the game have been redone in 1080p resolution, with new enhanced textures, physically based rendering, high-dynamic range lighting and more.

Speaking on the launch, Activision’s EVP and GM of Call of Duty Rob Kostich stated: “Modern Warfare Remastered is a special game not only to us, but also to our passionate Call of Duty community. The original featured a super high-octane, blockbuster thrill ride of a campaign that pioneered action games to where they are today. With Modern Warfare Remastered, fans who played it before will relive their favorite moments in beautiful HD glory, and for those new to Modern Warfare Remastered, get ready to experience a true classic. Together with Infinite Warfare, we’re delivering an incredible content and value offering to Call of Duty fans worldwide.”

Meanwhile, November 4 will see the official launch of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The digital release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will also happen for PC and Xbox One. After the official launch, gamers will have access to 10 multiplayer maps from the original Modern Warfare game. Activision also says that more multiplayer maps will be released by December 31 for free.
