Broken Glass Presents Dark Distortion March 3

Broken Glass Pictures will be distributing the supernatural horror thriller Dark Distortion to VOD platforms worldwide starting tomorrow.

It’s a tale as old as the movies themselves…a group of naive friends turns to thievery, only to be punished well beyond the level of their own crime by the ones crimed against. There are a couple differences in this version, though. Usually the robbery is committed out of desperation, but in Dark Distortion the gang of thieves happen to be gorgeous adult models who could probably make that money back and then some by just standing around while someone takes their picture.

And the force of vengeance isn’t the owner of the camera they purloined, but the subject of the video inside. A child was murdered, and her angry spirit possesses the video, and by extension the camcorder…and now creepy STUFF is happening to these models. Well, that’ll teach ’em.

Dark Distortion stars April Hartman as Victoria, Ethan Vaughan as Manny, Jada Jay as Nina, Joe Walker as Jeremy, Miles Stoner as Red, and Kionna Williams as Charlotte. It was written and directed by Joseph Herrera (Under Control Productions).

“This film captures a uniquely modern horror, where attention, technology, and violence collide. Dark Distortion is disturbing, relevant, and impossible to look away from.” says Rich Wolff, the CEO of Breaking Glass Pictures. “I chose Breaking Glass Pictures to distribute my film because I felt truly seen, not just as a filmmaker, but as a person,” says director Herrera. “I wasn’t just another title in a lineup. I’m excited to continue building this relationship and bringing Dark Distortion to audiences who are ready for something raw and fearless.”

Dark Distortion will be available on VOD platforms March 3.

Sounds intriguing! I'm always on the lookout for fresh takes on supernatural horror. It's interesting how these stories often revolve around a group of naive friends, but there's potential for some great character development and unexpected twists. I hope it brings something new to the genre! Anyone else planning to check it out?

Eh, another ghost story where pretty people get what’s coming to them. The twist with adult models is different I guess, but it still feels like the same “don’t steal” morality tale we’ve seen a hundred times. If the spirit just does the usual creepy stuff—doors slamming, shadows, distorted faces—I’ll probably turn it off halfway. Needs more than that to stand out. Still, I might watch it when I’m bored late at night.

The idea of a dead child’s rage trapped in digital video and then leaking out into the real world through these influencers/models is messed up in a good way. Technology making the haunting worse instead of just old haunted house stuff. I hope they lean into the found-footage style without overdoing shaky cam. April Hartman as the lead sounds promising—she’s got that intense look. Going in with low expectations but fingers crossed it’s solid.

Okay but why are gorgeous adult models robbing anything? They could just do one shoot and cover whatever they need. That part makes zero sense and takes me out of it already. The ghost kid possessing the camcorder is cool though—love cursed media horror. If they show the video footage getting weirder and weirder I’ll be hooked. Otherwise it’s probably just models screaming in lingerie for 90 minutes. We’ll see.

Sounds basic. Group steals thing, thing curses them, ghost does ghost things. Been there. The adult model cast might make it visually interesting for some people, but I doubt it saves a weak script. Director’s quote about being “seen” is nice and all, but I care about the movie, not his feelings. If the scares are cheap I’m out. Might skim reviews first before wasting time
