Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel gets new trailer
Take-Two Interactive has released a brand new trailer for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. The video, which can be seen above, is entitled Last Hope and introduces several new characters to the series as well as the now-famous Claptrap. As part of the latest announcement, it was revealed that the game will take advantage of new PC hardware. Those using high-end graphics cards will be able to experience much higher fidelity and performance, unlike other games in the franchise.
The publisher has also released two behind the scenes videos showing how the game has been made. Part 1 of the documentary and Part 2 are both available on YouTube. There will be additional episodes made available in the future according to Take-Two.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is the latest game in the Borderlands series. A prequel was chosen as Gearbox did not have a suitable idea for making Borderlands 3 yet and they were aware that fans would want a sequel to be much bigger and better than its predecessor.
The new game is being developed exclusively for last generation consoles and PC, using much of the same technology from Borderlands 2. Development is being handled primarily by 2K Australia, although Gearbox have provided assistance when needed and story details have been handled by writing staff from the original developer. The new team have also created new gameplay mechanics, such as anti-gravity and ice elemental weapons.
The game is set to have a playable world that is similar in size to the one in Borderlands 2 and will take place on the Hyperion moonbase mentioned in the previous title. The plot of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will also try to expand on ideas previously revealed in the other games in the series that have not yet been fleshed out.
The title is set to release October 14 in North America, October 16 in Australia and October 17 in Europe.
